I remember viewing an apartment years ago. The person showing me around told me excitedly that I could practically make my dinner without leaving the couch.
    :D

It has probably featured here so.

Just exactly how fast were you going?

It's not about going fast so much as it is about hitting the right harmonic to make the swing-arm vibration transfer to the passenger seat. I suppose the weight or centre of gravity of the passenger on the seat had some say in it too? My girlfriend at the time did like being a passenger too but I thought that was just her being randy and not a quality of the bike. Had I known any of this at the time I might not have sold it.

So what your saying is,it was like sitting over the wheels on the bus on steroids?

I suppose, or a really inefficient vibrator with a petrol engine.

Either way, it would have been nice to know at the time so I could offer more lifts and embarrass her. Rub it in, literally.

It might have led to all sorts of problems, Kowloon. You might have found yourself bringing her for 'midnight spin' with increasing frequency.

I will say in my defence, I was a very safe driver. Stern words were had about my ability to take corners when hands wandered. I got called a killjoy.

I’m carside outside the gym after a session to try and work myself out of the funk I’m in. Thinking it’s helped somewhat, gonna stop for food on the way home because I’m starving and the idea of food doesn’t make me feel sick at the moment :D

I seem to be in autumn, lights and heating on since 8 and a wash ready to go into the dryer.

My only hope of excitement is to track down the current owner of kowloon's motorbike ...

This has come up before. I never liked saying 'ride' when I was first on bikes because the word had another meaning, and so 'Drive' stuck and I never switched. :D

Thanks for the birthday wishes folks, and my poem, a picture of a cat with a flower in his mouth and some cake! Ye're a lovely bunch.

Had a lovely day, had cake, went walking in the rain, had cake and wine.
Spent the day replying to messages and thanking people, felt really spoiled.

Couchside at home, tired and getting ready to head off to bed.

Phoned my two sisters to break the news of our cousin’s terminal illness - both were upset, but not shocked as, like I mentioned before, she had major health problems nearly all her life. I popped out at lunchtime to light a candle for Claire, although I’m not a religious person, I like the gesture and meaning of lighting a candle.

Thanks again for all the kind words of empathy and support. We really are getting to be a family of sorts, a pretty close-knit bunch. :)
