Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I know, crossing into KK is an unnerving experience.

Sitting in my favourite chair, watching the telly, big fry-up of rashers, eggs, potato waffles and black pudding consumed.

Got a call from my uncle about an hour ago as I was sitting down to dinner. Sadly my cousin Claire, who had been critically ill the past 6 weeks, has passed away. Peacefully and in the company of her immediate family.

The funeral will be in Galway city on Tuesday morning - I will be traveling down to Galway tomorrow evening to attend and pay my respects.

Thank you everyone for your kind words of sympathy and compassion.

I feel sad, and rather pensive. I am so glad that my OH and I got down to Galway last Summer and met Claire and her sister for lunch. Claire was delighted to be given one of my paintings that she really liked as a gift from me.

That is now four cousins that I have lost. :(

The last half is always the busiest part :( although in fairness that is kinda good because you don’t notice the time going

Exactly, the initial boredom or slack in the early part will be gone ;) Plus you've survived the weekend, well done

I hope your mum is doing well Kitty.
Fair play to you working so hard. I did shift work in my 20s. I don't think I'd be able anymore.

She’s doing okay, managing about the house a bit more which is good, and she’s ventured out with me to get the shopping (albeit staying in the car while I go into the shops) a few days which is nice :)

It’s tough work, especially being on my feet for all of that, but what can you do I suppose only get on with it
