Blue screen of death

    Running windows 7 on an old lap top the so called blue screen of death keeps coming up.
    There is loads of videos online how to fix but they involve getting past blue screen which I can’t
    Any help please

    I can get to safe mood and see options but that’s about it

    What do you mean about options? What options?
    Also how long has the BSOD been happening?
    Was anything in the PC changed before then (software or hardware)?

    I run safe mode and it keeps going to blue screen and no new hardware
    I will try below link thank you

    Safe mode and select past restore point.

    I can get into settings using f2 or f12 on start up can anything be done from there

    Try a live linux distro to see if that will boot up ok, this will at least verify if you have a hardware failure.

    It seems likely to be hardware related, probably an essential such as graphics chip, or it may be something fixable like Ram is not seated properly, if it is an old Laptop as you say, it would not be worth the expense of repairing, go buy a new one.
