Heather Humpheries on Newstalk news clip had said jobseekers going to green list countries will be ok!
So Greenland, Monaco and Gibraltar will be fine!

So they've just changed the rules again. Your PUP won't be cut off if you travel to green listed countries.

More reverse gears in this Govt than on an Italian tank.

Very meek leadership. Reacting instead of taking the initiative. Government "advisors" stealing a living.

We are all EU citizens, don't chastise us for moving around Europe looking for work, or checking out what a city you may work in is like before you commit to the job.

Just extraordinary, can't stand the heat Heather, get out if the kitchen.

What's the bet this government gone by September, I'd say August but they'll be on holiday, The Irony of it

A camel is a horse drawn by a committee!
But outside of politics most people on committees aren't obscenely overpaid and vastly over expensed and massively over pensioned!

I think the chastisement is more for potentially bringing us all back a souvenir.

I guarantee it will last @ least 3 years because that's when they will have established their ministerial pensions rights!

In ordinary times, I would fully agree with you!
But travel to heavily infected areas skews things!

They are not, they are just not paying you to ignore travel advice.

can we not keep one f*ckin thing. Like the government were rock solid over keeping USC or any of the tax raises, but when its water charges or dole holidays and "de most vunderable in societeee" giving out they coil back in a few days.

serious lack of spines in Leinster house.

I take precautions like I would in Ireland. Advice there to help you travelling. A mini bus to Longford is the same as a flight to Norway with regards to risk. Look stay in the basement its definitely safe. That's my advice.

Just sit back and enjoy the ride. The entertainment value of watching these Keystone Cops is worth it.

The difference is that if Longford becomes unsafe I can take another bus and be home the same day. If Norway becomes unsafe as Spain did last week for British tourists there will be complaints how they are unfairly targeted, how this was not flagged in advance when flights were booked and so on. You might think you are in the same position as German tourist travelling in his own car to Croatia but we are not. They can change their direction and camp somewhere in Austria if numbers in Croatia go up. Most of us are a lot less flexible wit our holidays because we need to fly.

The only people i know on the dole that go on foreign holidays are also involved in criminality mostly drug dealing which facilitates these treats for themselves. They have the dole which is a decent core income which would look after any modest living family needs . Crime then pays for nice cloths, sky sports, the pub , Holidays, Big Communion & Birthday parties and large Headstones !

Longford is very unsafe due to traveller feuds & Crime , youd be safer in Spain!

Considering how many Irish criminals are based in Spain this moronic on so many levels that I can't ignore it as I would ignore an entry level moronic post.

Its not up to you what people do with money. Get a life.

It should be if it’s government provided money. Time to move onto a govt issued debit card. No alcohol, no cigarettes, no gambling, no porn, no Sky TV, no toys. Food and shelter. Earn treats.

again, governments arent like households, governments, if allowed, can in fact create money at will, a household cant

Do you want the economy to be in a permanent state of collapse?

Pensioners will have earned it, unless they are lifetime dolers. I’d have minimum pension for lifetime wasters and an increased one for those who contributed to the pot.

Disabled people disabled id have to look into. Don’t know too much about that.

Carers should be paid more, being a carer is a full time job. With the savings from the wasters we’d be able to do this.

Saving money that’s spend on cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, gambling etc would collapse the economy?? Sure thing.
