    I find it very strange not one newspaper has covered the pushing of the poppy every year lately.
    Is it going to be abandoned?

    OP you may jumping the gun on this one by about 4 months.
    Anyway, everyone is wearing BLM badges at the moment, and both would be to excuse the pun.

    People wear the poppy for their own reasons, even Irish people.

    John wears the poppy because his great grandfather died heroically fighting nazis in ww2.

    Jim is against irish people wearing the poppy because his grandfather was badly mistreated by british soldiers lookong for information.
