As both are solo artists, I thought they would lose out to the heavy weight bands... Solo artists have to sing ,song write, potentially play an array of instruments and arrange everything with no full time band members to share the load. And that's not counting the extra non creative work that being an artist involves.
I love both of these artists even though they had/have very different approaches to their artistry and it was very hard to choose, as both are masters of what they do.
I looked and listened back to them in the last 24 hours, every which way and up and still couldn't decide.... so I took a break.. and then it came to me...it was very simple in the end....only one of them had been, one of the inspirations for me to take up making music...... like I am sure, over the years he has inspired others to do and will still do into the future.
He is the Chameleon King of Rock n' Roll a multi-instrumentalist and song writer extraordinaire who re invented himself time and time again...He is the ultimate showman, a 'Starman'.
May he rest in peace ...but keep playing with all the great musicians that have passed over, in Rock n' Roll Heaven or Nirvana...
