Apple Mac Air Vs Something else

My daughter wants to upgrade her laptop, has a Lenovo yoga, which has done her good for last 5 years. She says she is looking at an Apple mac air. I'm sorry I missed out on that Lenovo deal in bargain alerts few weeks back as I know it would of been a good laptop for the price and what she wants to do with it.

I think she is mad to pay 1200+ euro for an Apple mac air...Trying to convince her otherwise.

Her budget initially was around 600-700. She needs it for college works plus as she is doing radiology might need mid range laptop?,something light and good battery life and wont be a slow machine.

Any help I appreciate

I've had a Macbook Air for the last 4 years, it still runs like a dream. It was ideal for college and I still love it. Mine was only €999 at the time and I got a free pair of beats because I was a student. €1200 is quite saucy but I would still reccomend.

Edit: I just checked the apple store there and they have a similar deal: €1155 & you get a free pair of airpods.

MacBooks are overpriced for the spec but they are fantastic functionally.

Given her college course she may need to dedicate part of the hard drive to windows OS, it may not still be the case but some college courses have specific software which may not be Mac compatible (it has been about 20years since I encountered this issue so there’s probably a modern day work around).

For documents and stuff like that it will be fine, office for Mac or some of the native Mac software will do.

The MacBook should last her through college.- instead of a MacBook Air, she could consider a secondhand or refurbished MacBook or MacBook Pro (or even an older version air) a higher spec machine could be gotten for cheaper than more newer model.

Glasso, I'm in Italy and I really like that D 14 but the specs are slightly different here, can you take a look? In Italian but computer speak is more or less the same in all languages. Thanks.

Just pulled the trigger on this, found a coupon which gave me another 20 euro off as well so paid 579.99 for the laptop, the smartwatch and the router. Well happy with that. Thanks glasso.
