Don't think your wording was quite right Katie. They didn't have any money 'taken', they gave the money away. Quite an important difference and the banks are doing a lot to stop scammers, but can't stop stupidity.

lets be honest the banks operate in ireland with impunity. The trackers, interest overcharge, etc . No oversight by the central Bank. Its 2020 ffs. They need to invest more in security. They have a duty of care irresepective of its clients. Joke Shop

A lot of their IT systems were ancient when I worked there.
Big upheaval and a lot of outsourcing yes.

I was there when the CEO was ditched for looking at racy sites in work...lol....it's almost as if IT had a bit of a vendetta...

It’s peculiar that everyone seems to ring the bank immediately after they have given their account details to the scammers. Why don’t they ring the bank before they do something stupid?

I have been with PTSB for a long time they are very good for day to day banking I think.

I had card skimmed a good while back but they were very helpful, they noticed the transactions before me and I got the money back within a week.
