Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Problem setting up Freesat on LG 43" UN

So I got a new LG TV, and also got a new Quattro LNB and multiswitch to setup everything as it will serve other TVs in the house.

So here's how I went about the set up:

Installed new LNB to dish with for cables going to multiswitch, all set correctly on the high/low horizontal/vertical....all is good.

One cable coming from multiswitch to new TV location, where there's is a diplexer for the antenna and sat connection... All good.

Installed TV to UK region, then went to scan for DTT and Freesat. Got the Saorview channels ok but nothing on Freesat. So I checked all my connections, everything was good. Even checked a second TV in another room with similar setup and that was working as normal for sat channel.

So I couldn't figure this out but went to see if I could install FTA satellite channels and it found loads.

So does anyone have any ideas on what I could try to get Freesat working?

Did you put in a uk postcode? This is required to get Freesat. Use NW1 for example.

Yes, I put in a proper postcode I know for a UK property. I've been thinking of the dish alignment might be slightly out and can't pick up the Freesat data stream. Well have a check with a meter when I get a bit of time.

Just to clear this one up, I found one connector had a bit of outer braid touching the inner core - this was an old f connector I was using out of the four needed after I changed the LNB on the dish to a Quattro. Anywho, it was a tiny detail but enough to upset the Freesat install process.
