Climbing Hydrangea new leaves brown and wilting

    My beloved climbing hydrangea has developed soft and floppy brown leaves at its fringes.
    A cat a recently started doing its business in the wood chip at the plants base, could that be a cause?
    I'm going to get some pet repellent stuff and will put that there.
    I have given it a good soak but I don't think its lack of water as its been pretty wet for the last month or so and I've been watering it too about once a week.

    Any suggestions?

    After the watering all rejuvenated and look grand now, maybe clearing away the cat litter helped too?
    Anyhow will give it a bigger soak once a week until September to ensure its getting enough.

    Good to hear, new growth can often look a bit limp, but watering will never do any harm.
    Is it evergreen?
    More likely to be a Pileostegia if so. Lovely plant.
