Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Satellite and aerial feed down one coaxial cable to 8 TVs

    Hey,

I'm looking to combine a satellite and aerial feed down one coaxial cable to 8 TVs.

Ideally, I would like one single unit I can plug my satellite and aerial feeds into and then just feed it back out to each tv. Most of the TVs have a satellite tuner built-in which I'd like to use and I know I'll have to split the signal back out on the tv end also.

But can anyone recommend a good TV/Sat distribution amplifier if they even exist for my scenario?

With the satellite it can only be one single device receiving signal per cable connection to the LNB on the dish. You can get multi connection LNB's so that your single dish can support up to 8 cables connecting to it.

There are multiswitches that accept Unicable input, but would any be capable of providing signal to each TV if they have just standard tuners?

Be careful if ordering a multiswitch. Older models only support quatro LNBs. More modern ones can use the more common quad LNBs too.

If I go for a modern multiswitch will this work with an existing Sky dish or would I need to change the LNB?

Do you have an existing Sky dish?

Some multiswitches will work with a standard Sky quad LNB.
Some the newer multiswitches are compatible with the new SkyQ wideband LNB.

It should have a 4 output quad LNB fitted so if you wish to use this LNB you'll require a quad compatible multiswitch

It might but probably won't have a quad, sky generally only fitted them for people with multi-room subs, unless the house is already wired for dual feeds in 2 rooms or more there probably won't be a quad on the dish.

Forgot to mention there was a couple of sky+ boxes in the house at one time so I know there's at least 4+ feeds coming off the dish.
