Hi, the results say for the open stream for Dublin. Anyone know why the interdepartmental results wasn't included or will that come seperately?

I emailed them to ask as I'm on the interdepartmental as well. When i hear back i will post here

Interdepartmental will come in separate message.

  • Registered Users Posts: 191 ✭✭Skweefie

I got my open stream result in one message then my interdepartmental in a second message. I did my etray in February.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11 edd_209

What's the difference between the two?

On my application it said interdepartmental N/A...is this stream only for those already working within the civil service?

Yes, interdepartmental stream is open to serving clerical officers only.

Mine only said open. No result for interdepartmental. I did my etray in February

    Did anyone fail E-tray?

I assumed I had failed because I forgot to press the 'submit' button on the time sensitive email but I actually passed ... I'm shocked, its a nice surprise as I was devastated for weeks after it tbh ...

Is there any chance they'll reach OOM 225ish from batch 2 before this panel runs out?

They came within 15 minutes of each other for me. Maybe mail them if you haven't gotten it by end of day.

As is my understanding it’s a 2 year panel so I’d say your chances are great if in Dublin.

Fantastic results well done. Are you given a new OOM after interview do you know?

The last time you were anyway because pre interview I was OOM 22 and after interview I was 11, but that was for within AGS, not an open competition.

Just wondering if anyone got any results for Leitrim today? My 2 location choices are Sligo and Leitrim and I've always had both location results within a few minutes of each other but today I only got Sligo results.

No, you are recruited as a generalist so are expected to go to any dept. However, your new dept might try to match your skills if they have a few vacancies - ask their HR about it when you get assigned.

Ah I see. Are you given any indication about where exactly you'll be placed within the department before you properly accept it?

    Hey morrism,
I was 13 for Leitrim and 21 for Sligo in my initial OOM..
I did etray in February and only got a result and OOM for Sligo today (top 10). I’m guessing as I had a higher OOM for Leitrim and that I’ve only received results for Sligo is that there are no plans to hire in Leitrim at the moment.. as I said I’m guessing.. someone on here may know better??

Generally the OOM for a previous round has nothing to do with the current round. You could have been 13 for Leitrim and 21 for Sligo in the initial round, but now you're top 10 for Sligo and haven't received an OOM for Leitrim. This might mean you're further down in the OOM for Leitrim now, or further up!

The lack of clarity is impressive from them sometimes.. but sure Boards.ie would be very boring if PAS actually gave clear explanations and didn’t leave us guessing!!
    Thanks is for the reply!

If a Co gets promoted to eo, do they start at the bottom of the eo payscale

Yes, unless they are currently on a higher wage as CO. In that case you would take the point on the scale that is closest without taking a pay cut. That's my understanding, but I could be wrong?

That is correct. Also worth noting if you fail your probation as an EO you go back to being a CO, it's not out the door time.

Strange that they didn't disclose Leitrim results at the same time? I'd prefer Sligo anyway as I'm north Leitrim and "Leitrim" normally means Carrick which is twice the distance Sligo is for me. Fingers crossed they interview soon..... Well done on your top ten BTW. ðŸ‘

Would anyone have any information on the HEO Communications Specialist roles that have been announced.

I tempted to apply but if they are going to hire internally then should I bother?

Also would my age be an issue (i’m over 40) and I’ve been self-employed most of my life.

I have a BA Hons and a HDip (both level 8) that they require.

Id say go for it, age is not an issue (and 40s not old!) you won't know until you apply.

    Good luck

Thanks Big Daddy Kane for replying.

    I’m going to apply.

If you’re not in, then you can’t win!

Is this an internal competition only ?

Apply away & Good Luck to you.

I joined the Civil Service when I was 47, they're not ageist at all. My friend was in her late 50's when she started.

    Hi all,

I’m at the clearance stage now for batch 1.6.
In relation to references do you know if they just email your employer a standard reference template request that your employer fills in or do they call them as well?

    Thanks a mill

Hi Laura5695, do you mind me asking what your OOM is?

Im not sure if they email or phone, maybe someone who has been through it recently will be able to answer.

    Hi guys,

I just have a question and apologies if anyone has already asked or answered earlier but if you turn down an offer from the open panel does that then mean you wouldn't get an offer from the interdepartmental panel?

Hope everyone that got results Friday was happy with what they got. :)

It's a little better than that. It's the next point above where you are now, plus one increment. See section 1.2 and 3.1 here, https://www.gov.ie/en/circular/57443f-082019-starting-pay-on-promotion/

The most recent pay on promotion circular from DPER says that, if your current civil service salary is above the starting point on the new scale, you go to the next higher point on the new scale plus one point. So you should get a bit of a pay rise.
