A bit random but I applied for the CO 2020 campaign before this one was announced.

I've a high OOM (single digits) for my 1st choice in CO, although it is a slow moving county..

For EO2019 I placed in the top 30 and never even got a sniff of an interview for the same county..

Has anyone on here had their name in the hat for different campaigns at the same time?

It would be just my luck to accept a CO position ( positive thinking) and then find out I placed higher on EO2020 than in EO2019.

The etray got me the last time, didnt submit everything, I scored near perfect on verbal and numerical supervised testing.

Have my name in for about 5 or more campaigns at the moment. I'm sure many people do.
Don't turn down anything that you want in the hope of a potential future offer that may not materialise.

If you're a CO just in the door and you become an EO through an open competition you are go through the same 'Acting to Substantive' process people with longer tenure do. Your CO service/probation is paused and you become an EO. If you screw that up (you won't) you actually become a CO again and pick up where you left off.

Successful in interview for EO 2019. Waiting to be placed. Have to do psychometric tests for EO in transport authority nxt week. It's a shortlisting phase.

I've applied for NTA panel as well. Will be curious to see if the the aptitude/psychometric assessment used is the same as for this competition ...or worse still, if it will just be the one test used for both applications (seeing as they're happening around the same time). Curious that you're only getting psychometric tests now, my application from earlier this month resulted in an email saying the test will be next week.

Has anyone any idea when we can expect results for the recently completed stage 1 tests?
Generally speaking, I wonder what combined ranking number we would need to have a decent chance of getting to interview stage.

Dunno about getting the results of stage 1, but they seem confident that we'll be into stage 2 in the month of September.

Has anyone applied for the recent Dept. Of Justice EO competition? Have Zoom interview tomorrow and just wondering how people got on?? How long does it last roughly? Have people in my apartment building doing work and want to ask if they will take a break while interview is on so would be handy to have a rough idea! Also will they go though CV and competencies??
    Any help apprciated!
    Thanks

Lasted 55minutes for me from start to finish.. Went through application each competency, my primary example from the form along with some supplementary questions for each.. Overall i thought it went pretty well. I had some slightly updated ones i had polished a little more so presented them along with the others..

    Best of Luck

Let us know how you get on!

Thanks, over now thanfully and think it went ok!! It was that one yes!! There was a lot less involved than a normal competition i.e. no tests, or questionnaire!! Not sure if thats better or worse but will see how it goes and continue with this competition in the meantime!!

Was there any queries in relation to the challenges presented by covid? Or anything about PMDS?

No they didin't bring up either, though i did mention having to adapt to working from home at the beginning as they asked if there had been any changes since i submitted the application!! Otherwise they pretty much stuck to the competencies!!

Did a aptitude test over the weekend for EO in state body. It might not be the same for this competition, but thought I'd share my experience:
    - The test is adaptive. That means the more questions you get right, the more difficult the subsequent questions become until you start getting them wrong, at which point they become easier.
    - The above means that no two candidates are presented with the same set of questions.
    - The time limits are very short, you really only have barely enough time to answer the question.
    - At the end you get a report that tells you, in very broad terms, how you did compared to the average.

I went through my stage 1 tests about ten days ago. I received a receipt saying they would get back to me in three business days. Should I take it for granted that I didn't qualify for the next round?

No I wouldn't have thought so.
I don't even think I received any receipt after completing the stage 1 tests.

Just want to ask is the various competitions been mixed up here. There seems to be a few different competitions in the Civil Service ongoing at the moment.

Yes, there is a bit of confusion in this thread.

This thread is for the general service at Executive Officer level in the Civil Service ran by the public appointments service. While civil and public service bodies may run separate or specialist campaign at EO grade, please check if there are separate threads or be clear about the campaign your referring to if different.

    For this campaign

Stage 1a was completed on the 25 August @ 1pm, results are still pending.

If successful, the next stage is "Stage 1b" which will include a verbal and numerical reasoning tests.

Stage 2 is not yet confirmed however it will likely involve a E-tray exercise/simulation.

I know for previous campaigns, people were brought into the PAS offices to complete the verbal/numerical tests in person (after the initial online ones). I wonder if they are continuing this practice with all the COVID restrictions? I can't see them gathering a gang of people for assessment days like they did in the past...

I've heard from someone in PAS they plan on doing it similar to the way Revenue hold these assessments - you do the assessment from home/work and you will be monitored through the camera for the duration of the assessment.

I recently did an exam for another campaign PAS was running. This was done online through Examity. It had to be conducted at a certain time and they monitored me through my webcam and mic and I had to screen share. I imagine this will be similar
