Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The metal threshold of a double door is badly marked in places. Is this typically painted?

paint will more than likely wear away there.
you could try to polish it up

edit: It'd probably need powder coating to get a strong layer on it.

Good point re polish, would you use Brasso? Those black marks are something stuck on actually, not sure how to get them off without scraping, maybe a blade....

How do you powder coat in situ?

    you won't.

Yeah, brasso, steel wool, very fine sand paper. Whatever works!
    I'm assuming it's Aluminium

Buy a can of clear lacker and polish it up as best as you can then apply 2-3costs of clear lacker. And then the lacker will protect the shinny aluminum

A blade took off the black bits fine. Brasso did not remove all though. I'l have to try with fine sandpaper but not hopeful

It'll take time, but use lower grit sand paper, and work you way up, i.e. 120 -> 180 -> 240 -> 600 etc.
