Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Aw, I voted for Keaton, but I'm sorry it was a whitewash. Weaver deserves some love too.

Nicolas Cage - Die Hard was great but Raising Arizona pips it.
Jamie Lee Curtis John Candy - The big man is a contender.

Your comment confuses me, did you mean to vote Nick?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,943 ✭✭✭✭the purple tin

Kathleen Turner Emilio Estevez - Both had some great films, Turner is a great actress who can play a variety of roles.
Arnold Schwarzenegger Eddie Murphy- 80s was the best decade for both, quite tricky this but Murphy because he started the decade with 48 hrs my fave buddy-action-cop movie.

Woops yes that's a vote for Nic Cage. Had picked Bruce first but was see-sawing between them.

I surely can’t be the only one who dislikes that man immensely... Mrs Doubtfire aside they’re all extremely autistic performances.

I don't like manic Robin Williams (including Mrs Doubtfire - a bad film, IMO). But I loved him the likes of Dead Poet's Society, One Hour Photo and Insomnia.

Dead Poets Society is my favourite film of all time, still crying every time I watch it. . .

It's way up there for me too. It gets bad press for being schmaltzy, but I cry every time too. I love young Ethan Hawke in it, finding his mettle at the end.

I will call this last match at 9am, if there is no winner, Nicolas Cage will go through having conceded less votes so far, 4-5

Arnie. I am a little dumbfounded that Emilio got this far. Like, he's grand and all, but not QF grand. Arnie is THE MAN!!

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 52,216 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

Arnold Schwarzenegger - Hasta La Vista, Emilio. The Governator takes this with some ease imo. If the Mighty Ducks had been 80s he could deploy the flying V but without that he doesn't avoid getting Terminated.

Has to be Arnie, probably the biggest movie star of the 80s

You leave my little Emilio alone!!!!

I don’t think he’ll be back after this matchup but he’s the last of my noms so will give him a vote so it’s not a complete wipeout.

    Vote: Emilio.

Definitely Arnie. No contest in this one.

Emilio Estevez ; the level of disrespect this legend has been shown by some of the other voters is an absolute joke, so I'm voting for the underdog here and I'd urge others to do likewise, because who doesn't love a good underdog story, and if he wins it'll send a couple of people around these parts a message not to underestimate us Brat Pack fans.
