he probably has it on display next to the Michigan Man of the Year award that also doesn't exist. they must look well next to the fake Time magazine covers he had printed with his face on them.

Hah. Beat you to it :P

People just want to get rid of Trump and Biden is irrelanvant to the people who vote for him, he is irrelevant to them. They are desperate.

Even if that wasn't a doctored video, isn't this the exact excuse many people used in voting for Trump over HC?

That they knew Trump was bad, but HC was so much worse.

Strange that they would now be against that line of thinking.

I don't recall ever having to doctor photos or videos to criticize Trump. His own words and actions are criticism enough. The length they have to go to in order to attack Biden. They can't attack the real Joe Biden, so they have to conjure up a fake caricature.

But this is where modern political strategy excels. For years we have been hearing cries of fake news. Destabilising the media was a masterstroke. So it doesn't matter in the post truth era. It really doesn't.

So now any old narcissistic fu(k can get up on a platform and be heard and not only do you have people cheering him on, you have a queue of people lining up to do all sorts of favours for him.

Ah in fairness there have been a few photoshopped pics of him, it’s a common enough thing I’d say from dodgy news sources and people with the computer ability.
That his supporters are at it shouldn’t surprise anyone, remember the extra frames inserted into the video of the reporter at the press conference a few years back

Scuttlebut is Caputo may shortly resign over his interviews yesterday when he suggested CDC scientists might be trying to kill him and he said "shooting will begin" at Trump's yet hypothetical 2nd inauguration, and for all gun owners to buy more guns and stock up on ammo now for the insurrection:

    https://www.politico.com/news/2020/09/15/michael-caputo-apology-hhs-staff-415206

Dude is definitely a nutter and his NYT interview made clear he has a legitimate case for medical health leave over mental instability:
“I don’t like being alone in Washington,” he said, describing “shadows on the ceiling in my apartment, there alone, shadows are so long.” He then ran through a series of conspiracy theories, culminating in a prediction that Mr. Trump will win re-election but his Democratic opponent, Joseph R. Biden Jr., will refuse to concede.

“And when Donald Trump refuses to stand down at the inauguration, the shooting will begin,” he said. “The drills that you’ve seen are nothing.” He added: “If you carry guns, buy ammunition, ladies and gentlemen, because it’s going to be hard to get.”
He added that the political climate has taken a toll on his mental wellbeing, saying his “mental health has definitely failed.”

Looks like Trump is getting a little help from troll farms - this time, headquartered in Arizona

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/turning-point-teens-disinformation-trump/2020/09/15/c84091ae-f20a-11ea-b796-2dd09962649c_story.html?hpid=hp_hp-banner-main_610p-tues-turningpoint%3Ahomepage%2Fstory-ans

WaPo has an expose' on Turning Point USA and Turning Point Action using paid humans and bots to proliferate spammy content, echoing pro-trump talking points in battleground states.
The messages have been emanating in recent months from the accounts of young people in Arizona seemingly expressing their own views — standing up for President Trump in a battleground state and echoing talking points from his reelection campaign.

Far from representing a genuine social media groundswell, however, the posts are the product of a sprawling yet secretive campaign that experts say evades the guardrails put in place by social media companies to limit online disinformation of the sort used by Russia during the 2016 campaign.

Teenagers, some of them minors, are being paid to pump out the messages at the direction of Turning Point Action, an affiliate of Turning Point USA, the prominent conservative youth organization based in Phoenix, according to four people with independent knowledge of the effort. Their descriptions were confirmed by detailed notes from relatives of one of the teenagers who recorded conversations with him about the efforts.

The campaign draws on the spam-like behavior of bots and trolls, with the same or similar language posted repeatedly across social media. But it is carried out, at least in part, by humans paid to use their own accounts, though nowhere disclosing their relationship with Turning Point Action or the digital firm brought in to oversee the day-to-day activity. One user included a link to Turning Point USA’s website in his Twitter profile until The Washington Post began asking questions about the activity.

In response to questions from The Post, Twitter on Tuesday suspended at least 20 accounts involved in the activity for “platform manipulation and spam.” Facebook also removed a number of accounts as part of what the company said is an ongoing investigation.

The effort generated thousands of posts this summer on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, according to an examination by The Post and an assessment by an independent specialist in data science. Nearly 4,500 tweets containing identical content that were identified in the analysis probably represent a fraction of the overall output.

The months-long effort by the tax-exempt nonprofit is among the most ambitious domestic influence campaigns uncovered this election cycle, said experts tracking the evolution of deceptive online tactics.

“In 2016, there were Macedonian teenagers interfering in the election by running a troll farm and writing salacious articles for money,” said Graham Brookie, director of the Atlantic Council’s Digital Forensic Research Lab. “In this election, the troll farm is in Phoenix.”

The effort, Brookie added, illustrates “that the scale and scope of domestic disinformation is far greater than anything a foreign adversary could do to us.”

Turning Point Action, whose 26-year-old leader, Charlie Kirk, delivered the opening speech at this year’s Republican National Convention, issued a statement from the group’s field director defending the social media campaign and saying any comparison to a troll farm was a “gross mischaracterization.”

“This is sincere political activism conducted by real people who passionately hold the beliefs they describe online, not an anonymous troll farm in Russia,” the field director, Austin Smith, said in the statement.

He said the operation reflected an attempt by Turning Point Action to maintain its advocacy despite the challenges presented by the coronavirus pandemic, which has curtailed many traditional political events.

“Like everyone else, Turning Point Action’s plans for nationwide in-person events and activities were completely disrupted by the pandemic,” Smith said. “Many positions TPA had planned for in field work were going to be completely cut, but TPA managed to reimagine these roles and working with our marketing partners, transitioned some to a virtual and online activist model.”

The group declined to make Kirk available for an interview.

Trump did an undecided voters town hall. ABC shared the Q's and A's via twitter (in quote to stop mass embedding):

ABC did a great job structuring their video clips like this.

CNN will host a town hall with Biden in 2 days. I believe the fairness doctrine means both candidates are owed equal time on each network as well, CNN and ABC.

Appears to be damn good television. Haven't watched it all but apparently there are some silly remarks made.

    https://twitter.com/ABC/status/1306060057117941760?s=20

edit: that's the longest I've seen Trump try this hard to stay on message, and without flipping out at someone for asking a "nasty question." Laura ingraham still characterized the town hall as "an ambush" (she's a loon). As tweets above point out at several times he completely dismisses the nature of the question. In one example (#18) he repeatedly refers to a woman's mother, who died of cancer, as having died of Covid. Which is a shame because he actually had some humanity on display. So he ended up answering a lot about Covid that wasn't relevant to her ask (“What would you change to make more people like me and like her to become citizens?”). He had a heated exchange with Stephanopolous (#12) who called him out for fighting to end ACA/Protections for pre-existing conditions in the SCOTUS, when pressed on where these plans are to replace it that he has for months said "are coming in the next 2 weeks" he says "he has them." lol. I think my favorite wtf moment of the night was when he attacked Biden and the Democrats for not implementing a national mask mandate - which would uh, be the President's job, not Biden's.

When separately asked why a mask mandate would be bad he went on a tangent about waiters touching their masks. Was very disappointed that he didn't actually absorb the question about income inequality faced by minorities (#7), he just went on a tear about how bad Obama and Biden were and how great his economy was even though the voter specifically disclaimed that he already wasn't impressed with the past 4 administrations on income inequality, and Trump just never came around to accepting that the inequality has gotten consistently worse throughout his presidency, so it was never roundly addressed and no recourse was ever offered by him. He went on about job numbers even though the voter was clear that 'an $8/hr job,' despite being a counted job, is not livable. When the voter said there is a race problem in America Trump's response was "there's not a race problem in America, there's not with me I have great respect for all races for everybody" - again, completely missing the thrust of the prompt and making it about himself.

    edit 2: Biden's great zinger,

I just watched some clips of that town hall...Trump is a total train wreck, I doubt it will matter to the vast majority of people who vote for him, but who knows!

    Highlights/lowlights
    - He "up played" the virus apparently..
    - Trying to appeal to anti mask brigade "a lot of people" "good people" who think that masks are not good...like waiters lol
    - Herd mentality....ffs
    - lies on obamacare and pre existing conditions
    - he defended us death rate for corona...he doesn't understand per capita
    - Criticizing Biden for not implementing a national mask mandate...is anyone going to tell him he is the president not Biden?!

That's not even the half of it...

This is what happens when he steps away from the fan club of fix news.

Biden was the winner and he wasn’t even there.

How about "herd mentality"? Or when he answered a woman's question about immigration, a woman whose mother had died of cancer, with some of his coronavirus talking points?

Have you watched his town hall, actually? Fox News are trying to portray it as an "ambush", which is incredibly over the top. Trump just really isn't used to being asked tough questions, especially by people who don't attend his rallies.

In fairness to Trump it’s possible at this stage he just doesn’t know who’s pulling the strings.

Wake up America, your entire political system is completely screwing you over. A president who has excuse after excuse after excuse and now the media that supports him are doing the same.

Instead of listening to what answers he actually gave, it will be lost in the noise of another he said/she said dog fight.

My money is still on Trump to win.

Trump talking about Woodwards book on Fox. Trump thinks that Bernstein wrote it. He had to be prompted that Woodward wrote it. Trump claims to have read it. He definitely didn't.

Wow that town hall was a complete shambles. What an embarrassing performance by Trump. What's clear again is he has absolutely no ability to discuss policy or articulate policy in any way. He just defaults to the same nonsense in every answer i.e. blame Obama and others for his failings, say that he's looking into things "strongly", claim he's done more than any President ever (while being unable to articulate that at all) and rinse and repeat. Absolute shitshow.

You keep trying these tactics and fail miserably each time.
