Less than two weeks out now from the first debate and Trumps last three interviews and the town hall last night have all been car crashes. All indicators are pointing towards that trend continuing in the debates.

And he’s going to have to defend his record.

No new healthcare plan, no new infrastructure bill, 200 thousand deaths, a recession, 7 trillion added to deficit, mass unemployment, environmental destruction, no coal jobs brought back, mass protests.

Not to mention his impeachment, unhinged rants, cosying up to dictators, calling soldiers losers, etc.

I wouldn't be surprised if Trump does the first one, makes a total ass of himself and then drops out of the other one.

But does it matter. Trump supporters are so deluded he can say anything he wants and they defend it. Trump speaking on tape is considered MSM fake news or some such. Trump just needs to come up with a few 3 word slogans they can remember, a four word one (although an acroynm is handy for that one) And a insulting nickname for people he doesnt like.

If he does drop out at any point (doubtful) or indeed looses, I wonder what his excuse will be?

It wont be health related, his ego wont allow it.

-Returning to his business roots ("I didn't want it anyway").
-Its an impossible job, because of those pesky democrats?
-The mayors of cities he is at war with (he probably wont care enough by then)
    -The COVID situation?
-God told him he has done a good enough job.

He'll claim that those are all fake news, the fault of the democrats and China, and his supporters who have already stated a lot of this will be clapping along.

It matters because Trump needs to turn voters to him, as he is currently behind in most polls.

He needs to do well in the Debates to at least start the process of winning these voters back.

Biden, IMO, should actually steer clear of Trump issues, such as him being nasty, the tweets, Stormy etc.

Just stick to his record in office. Perfectly fine to highlight how much golfing he has done, the cost to the taxpayer for his weekend retreats. But stick to clear policy areas. 200+ deaths, the Buck stops with the POTUS, failure on healthcare, failure to build the wall. The tax giveaway that was aimed at the top 1%.

Ask him what the stats on education achievement are? What the level of renewables are? What are his plans for the future economy?

Trump has no answers to any of these, and much more, but would love nothing better than to get into a shouting match about who is nasty, or who is fitting or who can bench press the most.

All Biden has to do is say this happened on your watch.

Trumps supporters won’t care either way.

Exactly. Trump promised to MAGA and yet he is now claiming that the whole thing is failing apart because of Biden. Obama and apparently waiters don'y use masks properly so people simply have to die!

Biden should just keep repeating the line that none of this was happening when he left office, but he can't work out what is different now to make it so much worse.

    Agreed.
Bidens so-called apocalyptic America is happening under Trump.

I was replying to the fact trump might drop out of further debates if they go wrong.

I'm not sure he has any interest in attracting voters through any other methods than fear of the left and voter suppression. Democracy now was interesting yesterday, the tactics being employed with all the new judicial appointments. They know their only chance is to remove peoples right to vote.

The debates will be talking to less than 10% of voters , the rest are pretty much locked in either way.

There are about 5% still undecided and about the same amount that have said they are potentially open to changing their mind.

If Trump bombs the 1st debate , which is a real possibility , hard to see how he comes back for the others.

He has lowered the bar incredibly for Biden with all his talk of dementia and/or drug taking.

You saw the impact of that in the Convention speeches - Biden gave a solid , standard issue convention speech and was lauded for it , even by places like Fox etc.

As long as he doesn't completely sh!t the bed in the debate , he'll be considered the winner and that will be mostly Trumps fault.

Depends on how many undecided voters, or last polled as such, will watch the debates imo

Since February he has been bombing every press conference he has been in. And every interview. He cant even answer a question like what do you want to say to the mothers out there on mothers day without ranting about military spending. Perhaps they are trying to win new voters, i think he will be trying to shore up his voter turn out with hatred and division. But his ego would never let him drop out.

BREAKING: Top HHS official Michael Caputo, a longtime Trump loyalist, is taking a leave of absence after Facebook rant on CDC conspiracies.

Sounds like a nasty case of herd mentality.

"On September 13, 2020, Caputo asserted in a video on his personal Facebook page that CDC scientists were engaged in "sedition" with a "resistance unit" against President Trump, and were "meeting in coffee shops" to plan their next attack on Trump. Caputo added that left-wing "hit squads being trained all over this country" were preparing an armed insurrection after the election, advising his listeners to "buy ammunition".[5] He claimed that the shooting of a right wing protester in Portland had been "a drill".[33] He continued, "You understand that they’re going to have to kill me, and unfortunately, I think that’s where this is going." He said his physical and mental health were deteriorating and he feared being alone, describing "shadows on the ceiling" in his apartment."

Where the hell do they find these people?

Welcome to today's GOP. All that matters is loyalty to the #IMPOTUS. The thinkers have all joined the Lincoln Project.

Did anyone else see Robert O'Brien on CNN the other day spouting that 'the fog of war' is why the #IMPOTUS sought to downplay the virus (which he has since contradicting.) The tGOP insulting the troops yet again - fog of war. Fog of too many burgers and rounds at the golf course, while being waited on by waiters wearing and complaining about masks.

Here are the lyrics of Despacito translated to English:

    "Slowly
I want to breathe your neck slowly
Let me tell you things in your ears
So that you remember when you're not with me
    Slowly
I want to strip you off with kisses slowly"

    Suites him perfectly.

What is exactly about Trump that makes you this fanatical? By any measure he's a failure as a man, a businessman and a political leader. To steal a line from the great Terry Pratchett, Trump should be "disqualified from the human race for shoving". So what does Trump mean to you? What does he do for you to make you see the world in the way you do?
