They did have a go at Donald Trump Jr.

    Who had a go?

The most amazing part is the Trump base who are largely religious and claim to love the constitution, freedom and democracy, are cheering on as Trump is openly tearing down the legitimacy of the elections which are the very heart of the American system.

Why did you mention they are largely religious, seem irrelevant , was that intended as a slur ?

it is part of their hypocrisy.

People who are religious would generally claim to have a higher moral standard than those that are not , yet Conservative Evangelicals are willing to give full throated support to a man who has shown himself to be utterly without anything approaching what could be described as "morals".

So not a slur , but genuine questions/confusion as to why a group of people who's entire persona is formed around adherence to high moral standards and following the "word of God" can support a man so clearly and obviously lacking those same traits?

Because they are. Trump openly courts the religious vote and they vote overwhelmingly for him. Is this news to you or something? Or are you just having a faux outrage moment?

Every politician in the US does, US jews and latino christians are recognised as two of the largest religious groups you dont want to piss off if you want to win an election, on either side of the aisle. A republican appealing to evangelicals is hardly anything new or unique to trump,

Most of the US is religious and sadly took ‘only god can judge me’ to heart

Nothing wrong with randomers wandering the streets in full combat gear?

Nothing whatsoever to do with which side they are on , but that is a truly terrifying thing if anyone thinks that's in any way shape or form "ok" in any normal functioning democracy.

I'd really love to find out why you think it's ok for anonymous and heavily-armed (with military-grade assault rifles and body armour) militia to be roaming the streets like that? What's their purpose? To me, they're just dying for someone to threaten or open fire on them. You can see that by his comment to the driver.

I can't imagine what that must be like to have to live a normal life with that going on around you.

nothing wrong with it if they are the right kind of randomers. when it was armed BLM supporters they lost their **** and thought it was acceptable to point guns at unarmed people.

Didn't Trump have the couple that felt so threatened by other people that they stood outside their house with guns drawn, yet you think it is perfectly reasonable for armed, and masked militias t walk through a city centre.

I wonder will Trump invite that woman, and any other person that felt threatened, to speak at his next press conference.

Did he not invite them to the RNC?

Well, it turns out that woman was pretty much spot on.

A POTUS can abuses the war dead, laughs at those held hostage, cares little when 200k+ US citizens die of a virus, offers nothing to the families and friends that have lost people, and now is tearing down democracy and refusing to rule out armed insurrection unless he is given the election.

Disingenuous. Most of those things were taken out of context and any contradictory evidence expunged from the record. "Abuses the war dead" FFS what are you on about?

Another sexist remark. Why does he assume Harry is somehow the injured party in all of this.

A royal, with all the privilege and advantages that brings, traps a woman into his world and forces her to be the scapegoat to get him away from the life he had become fed up with (given that he blames his Granny for the events that lead to his mothers death, blames his dad for cheating on his mother, and watched as his uncle was allowed avoid any responsibility for supporting a paedophile).

But no, it must be the woman fault, her with her ideas above her station. Back in your box.

And its so ironic that Trump supporters claim that Biden is in mental decline when they can't remember what happened a couple of years ago, unless you're gaslighting

He didn't bother to turn up to pay homage to the war dead because the weather was a bit poor. He attacked the family of a Purple Heart soldier because they dared to pick HC over him.

He did nothing about the Russians paying bounties to target US troops, with his only comment being that the US did it too so as is fair.

No, they're all spot on; if there's contrary evidence, present it.

    Really?! Let's break them down;
    • A POTUS can abuses the war dead - the only one that could be viewed as contentious as Trump fans don't believe the numerous credible sources
    • laughs at those held hostage - see John McCain
    • cares little when 200k+ US citizens die of a virus - Donald Trump "it is what it is", "I have no regrets, we've done a great job"
    • offers nothing to the families and friends that have lost people - see above
    • and now is tearing down democracy and refusing to rule out armed insurrection unless he is given the election - he was literally just asked this last night and refused to rule out a peaceful handover. It couldn't be any clearer!!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,997 ✭✭✭KilOit

Trump not agreeing to peaceful handover if defeated should shake every American no matter their side. This could be a coup with lots bloodshed if those armed militia walking the streets are the norm. America looks more like a country in conflict but hoping it's just the media bias and social media hysteria and normal day to day life is normal

It can, you might be surprised to hear, possible to think both are wrong.

Walking around a city, openly threatened people (he slammed the car door closed on her) is totally unacceptable and if you were not so wrapped up in your cultish devotion to Trump you would recognise that.

Again, trump invited that couple to the RNC because they felt threatened, so on that basis I expect Trump, and his supporters, to immediately call out these men for this threatening behavious.

Will we be hearing tried from you that Trump hasn't come out to condemn these guys, just like Biden was repeatedly (incorrectly) called out for not calling out the protestors

So up ihave nothing at all to say on Trump threatening to destroy democracy in the US?

Also, you may have missed this https://www.axios.com/senate-republicans-biden-ukraine-report-b1ae86c3-d811-4f2d-8b30-199d4203c448.html
