Knowing Soucek’s availability for GW 1 would really help.

Hope we get clarity on Friday. Ideally before then.

Even look at Pukisic at Chelsea it took him ages to settle last year and he was only good in the 2nd half of the season mainly.

Yiu never know with young guys coming to a new league.

I've heard a few times that werner likes to drift left and that RLC spent a lot of the last game in the box trying to get on chances, I'm not sure who will play in that position though

Also will be getting in Pukisic when he is fit

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,168 ✭✭✭Dearg81

Havertz will start every game when fit. The only question mark will be will he start GW1. Best to wait for Frank's presser for more info.

He'll start as Ziyech and Pulisic will be missing.

Is it wrong to be looking at Zaha? He’s playing up front apparently

Edit: I should probably disclose he’d be replaced Ayoze Perez

He's a better pick than Perez. Zahas problem is his finishing, I think he gets rattled mentally when he misses chances but he's got a couple in preseason and playing upfront as you said. Maybe playing in empty stadiums will help him.

I have him at the moment for GW1 and will then bring someone else in for GW2.

I'm now considering not getting Zaha and just benching my GW2 player and saving a transfer.

Hasn’t he already played for them and did quite well ?

Loan spell. Or am I mixing up players again ?

For all the talk of getting United assets in their last results are (not including LASK)
    • Seville - Lost 2-1 - Pen
    • Copenhagen - Won 1-0 - Pen
    • Leicester - Won 0-2 - Pen, GK Mistake
    • West Ham - Drew 1-1 - Greenwood
    • Chelsea - Lost 1-3 - Pen

So over the last 5 games
    • No goals for Rashford/Martial
    • 2 Non Pen Goals / 3 Pen Goals
    • 2 Clean Sheets
    • 2 Wins

Its not great form, and they havent had a real break. I was all set to go all in on Martial/Greenwood, but might change and just go for the safer Fernandes.
Especially until we see if its the exciting Untried we saw immediately post lock down, or the tired stodgy United post Chelsea.

The fact he’s a striker for Palace put me off more than the player himself.

I think he’s actually good in the box so if he gets the chances he will score goals.

Zaha dribbling ability is the only great thing about him and would be wasted somewhat up front he also eases the pressure on the defence, I'd be surprised if he started up front now they have striker, no matter how bad he is.

Yeah, I won’t be touching him unless given clear reason to through form

He got 5 in 11 for palace but his record out from that is woeful, I don’t see how he’s rated

Having said that prob enough to put me off Zaha

    Who is the better combination

    VVD and Calum Wilson

    or

    Robertson and Batshuyai

Robertson is way ahead of VVD imo so that kind of distorts it.

Picked a squad the other day on FPL and pressed save. Now Ive changed my mind on a couple of players but cant see how to do this, is the squad completely locked in once you click save? All I seem able to do is move subs into the team, cant find a way to change players out of the squad altogether before the deadline Saturday.

Don’t be afraid to throw up your team in the RMT thread.

A noob can learn a lot in here quite quickly and you’ll get honest feedback.

My basic advice - don’t buy many risky players. Try and buy tried and tested players that have a record of returning points.

    Avoid injury prone players.

Don’t consider team bias. If you support Spurs you should still be starting he season with Aubameyang.

Buy players with the next 4-6 GW’s in mind.

Get your money on the pitch. Having a strong bench can leave you with weekly choices that are painful when you get it wrong. Cheap and nasty on the bench.

It’s easy picking the premium players. Doing well in FPL means getting your mid priced and bargain players right.

And the most important - if you’re into the premier league and have your own opinion, on players and teams, then go with that. Don’t get pulled and swayed all around the place. Trust your own opinion. I don’t see the fun in it otherwise.

So if you fancy Everton to do well this season, as I do, then make sure and have 1 or even 2 of their players.

This is spot on and so important.

Adding to premium players, it's about having the right premium players at the right time to maximise points. Including your (C)

I thought that at first too but only 3 points between them last season.
I do think Robertsons ceiling is higher though.

What is the alternative to Wilson up top ?

    Mitrovic?

What is the alternative to Wilson up top ?

its dodgy, but Rodrigo for Leeds after GW4 could be worth it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 20,770 ✭✭✭✭yourdeadwright

    Mitrovic?

Oh not sure if I trust him ,

If there was fans he'd in for tomorrow but no fans make away games so much easier for the top sides,

Although Luiz is injured and as bad as he can be the gunners are worse without him ,

Darlow at 5m is such a joke. Have no idea how that price is justified.

Agreed. There’s a few silly prices knocking about.

Not sure how they went 6.0m for Digne.

Definitely would have gambled on him at 5.5m.
