I've been considering becoming a mother alone - using donor sperm. I'm a few years away from being ready (don't own my own home yet) but I was wondering if anyone here has done it? How was the process? What are the costs? When did you decide to go for it? As a goal I've told myself 35. I've heard that there is councelling…

How about you pay for counselling now, not to prepare you for going through with it but to find out why you have such an idea in your head to begin with.

It's like you have a checklist.. get a car, get a house, get a baby.

Ah yes. Single woman couldn't possibly be being responible and attempting to research the various avenues to motherhood. Obviously just naivey and irresponsibley trying to fill the man-shaped hole in her life with bandaid-baby.

Cool. Is there a MOD who can lock this? I think having posters question my mental health is a bit much. Thanks to those who left genuinely helpful responses.
