This prob started by Bohs I'm guessing what's the story with it being a trendy hipster club all of a sudden

That could well change soon enough, S. Shamrock Rovers and, particularly, Bohs benefited massively from Man United’s sharp “decline” in the English Premier League.

It’s been hard to find any Man United fans about for the last while, they either no longer “follow” soccer or they support Rovers or Bohs for the “purity of live football”.

No one expected United to qualify for the Champions League so if they get another good run in the premiership, or Champions League, that could impact the, fairly recent, “boost” in LoI support.

Guess we won’t see how badly the “effect” is until we get games in front crowds again. But, I can’t say I’m hopeful, United fans are an incredibly fickle “bunch”.

It's nonsense if you ask me ,

BLM is about systemic racism which is not an issue in Ireland,

Is there racism here yes, is it wrong 100% yes, will you ever get rid of it 100% unfortunately NO ,

Third or fourth time this has been said but it’s not Bohs behind it.

No big deal really I don't think.

Are there restrictions on attendances for LOI matches? Or are they letting all 10 supporters from each club in?

its simply a tick the box exercise at this stage; achieves nothing, means nothing.

Imagine supporting your own teams. Weird concept, isn't it?

    Don't see the issue.

Your grandaddy was a slave driver and your feeling guilty about it. You might as well stick on your Antifa T-shirt and go the whole hog.
We have nothing to apologise to black people about. It's not solidarity with blacks your showing its solidarity with BLM.

It has become like the ice bucket challenge, people just want to do it because it is trendy, sheep will always follow.

The League of Ireland starts back this weekend after being on hiatus due to the pandemic. I read the other day that players and officials will ''take the knee'' in solidarity with BLM for the first 8 games of the restart. What's your thoughts on this?

I watched Match of the Day on Sunday and they literally showed every knee-take from every fixture. It seemed a little overkill if I'm honest. However, England and English football has had it's fair share of racism issues. It's not really soemthing we have in the game here. So do you see this as a decent gesture? Sincere? Do you see it as necessary? Bandwagon virtue signalling?

I'm a Bohs fan and our board have seen us lean left on plenty of issues with Refugess Welcome on the jersey etc and, while it doesn't bother me too much, I'd hate to openly have the cheek to have a dissenting opinion. The players are told they may take a knee if they want to but I can only imagine the backlash if they didn't. What's your opinion?

That’s Bohs, they say everyone welcome, while calling Alan Mannus a dirty orange bstard for 90 mins everytime they play Rovers. Racism bad, Sectarianism grand.

George Floyd will be smiling down on them from heaven with gratitude.

I don’t think criminals go to heaven. Even with a heavy media campaign.

There are black people in Ireland who suffered racism, prejudice and abuse.

Just because you're ignorant to it doesn't mean it doesn't happen

As ever, I think there's an element of the dreaded Empty Public Virtue to this but there is an increasing amount of black players and supporters around the domestic league - as befits the country generally - that might appreciate the gesture.

Wouldn't get too worked up about it myself.

    Where's the white hate?

I had no idea we were importing that.

Not defending it but at the Bohs/Rovers matches you always get a filth element that you wouldn't get at week-in and week-out games. Guarantee you the vermin chanting that wouldn't be at Galway away matches... or even home for that matter.

Club issued an email to all members regarding this by the way. Condemned it completely. So no, it's not accepted.

Would be worth reminding the league he stuck a gun in a pregnant woman's stomach. Wokie Irish media should have printed his rap sheet.

Funny you should say that, he literally was a rapper in Screwed Up Click

I'd hazard a guess that that's why they're called gestures,

As opposed to, say, immediate global solutions?

Thank Allah the LOI are taking a stance against racial injustice in The US of A.

Im really hoping this will put an end to it!

With any luck the aul GAA Junior B will take inspiration from it and take a knee to stop the bombing in Syria.

    /World fixed.

That equal rights frenzy the left is so into.

Fair play to LoI for showing their support for people of colour trying to be heard.
