Absolute quality from McGill, if you’re not enjoying this you shouldn’t be watching snooker.

McGill has played better in the last three frames than Ronnie in all of his semi final.

Very high standard from a precarious position, no nerves or hesitation

If McGill plays Ronnie it will be 1-7 v 4-1, and about 5.5 handicap. Why do punters accept such poor percentages

    That's exactly why I wouldn't be touching a Rocket - McGill final :p

Or indeed, a Selby/McGill final, or even a Wilson/Selby final.... because I wouldn't be able to make any sort of prediction/s.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,023 ✭✭✭✭Joe_ Public

He is playing without looking under any pressure whatsoever, supremely relaxed and think there's no fear of losing as he's in kind of bonus territory here as it is. Course, they all desperately want to reach a world final but feel it might weigh more heavily on wilson. McGill said in his interview the other day that it felt as if he was playing down the club, and that's how he's making it look at the moment anyway.

I wasn't too hot meself on the punting this year, Mark Allen was my fancy, was scuppered quickly

Not by a long shot. She's at it a few years.

Seema only used to do the in-between matches bits was it?

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

    Sickening foul!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,965 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

looks like 15-14 McGill in again - edit no! Red goes in off shot on blue. Wilson has them there for him.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

What a story a Ronnie v McGill final would be though bearing in mind Ronnie's gee up earlier in the week.

No matter what about his tact, and it takes a bit to draw some ire from Mark J Williams, but he is always box office.

Comparisons to Graeme Dott - didn't he get to two or three Crucible Finals. I think folk are being generous to McGill.

Dott was 27 when he got to his first final...McGill is 29

Cruel luck for McGill having played a good shot.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,534 ✭✭✭Chalk McHugh

Ouch! That's going to hurt the Glasgow man. The snooker gods can be so cruel.

I think McGill has had his fair share of rub this session, a few balls 'ringing the doorbell and wiping their feet' going into one of the black pockets earlier on. Still, unlucky all the same.

This is what World semis should be about. Two players equally matched. 14 all about to go 15 14. Classic stuff.

I went for a cup of tea and it was 15-14. Jesus that was quick.

    Cracking red

McGill over the moon to have got to the semis

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,534 ✭✭✭Chalk McHugh

That pot on the red best shot of championship for me. Second best was McGills last gasp snooker behind the green that won the deciding frame match v Clarke.

Need a bit of luck on the split

Ah balls, the electricity just went in our house!

McGill looks to have found a new gear the last few frames.

How ironic as this match is electric!

    Bad contact there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,486 ✭✭✭Arthur Daley

That was poor off the blue

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 544 ✭✭✭fran38

Goin 16 all id say. Gripping.

Gone 15-15 now McGill playing like a legend. No bother to him think he has forgotten who he is and where he is.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Cmon McGill. Strike a blow for the 'numpties'.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,965 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

Major McGill mistake and got away with murder. Wilson's fault. Plus Kyren should get rid of that goatee. It's not Zorro or Pirates of the Caribbean.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

My god how did he avoid knocking the black in? Come on McGill!

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,850 ✭✭✭Panrich

I would love to know what Jamie Clarke is thinking watching this. He had McGill well beaten until the controversy scuppered his equilibrium.

This reminds me a little of bingham v trump in '15, how relaxed bingham was, how he kept brushing off any mishaps and how much he was enjoying himself while trump grew more and more frazzled by the frame. Substitute mcgill for bingham, wilson for trump and i see a not altogether different dynamic in progress here.

Yeah loved it. Full length of the table and attacking the red covering the black at 15-14 down in a WC semi final.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,486 ✭✭✭Arthur Daley

    No that red was brave.

    Becoming McGill fans.

Where the hell did McGill get this out of.
    He found the turbo somewhere.

Some balls on McGill. 5 of the last 6 frames, hope he does it

Wilson won't like you comparing him to trump.

Those 2 straight up don't like each other.

    Outstanding from McGill.

Some jump in standard from the other turgid affair...

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,534 ✭✭✭Chalk McHugh

Whispering Dave Farrar is getting better and Hendry is a good co pilot. BBC beats Eurosport and Joe Jonhson all day long in this match up.

Would love to know what McGill’s shot time was in that frame, maybe 14/15 seconds? Gliding around the table, tapping them in like they’re over the hole, amazing composure.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,358 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

The reds are everywhere. There's nearly as many at the top end as there are at the bottom.

This is the first of the Wilson/McGill semi that I've watched and they've been impressive so far.

Just waiting for the dam to break here...

Just as I say that. I think they both chickened out. It was too early to call that.

A re rack on the blue pink and black after 41 mins in the 81 final. Could imagine Steve in his prime enjoying that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,023 ✭✭✭✭Joe_ Public

God be with the days you'd have minimum 10 minutes tip tapping before even the first hint of a rerack. Truth be told, would have quite fancied it there!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,486 ✭✭✭Arthur Daley

    Now Mr McGill

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,023 ✭✭✭✭Joe_ Public

Shoulda been going down for blue there.
