I think Wilson will win. Hard for any player to win three deciders in four matches. Law of averages and all that.

I think that slow potted red attempt by McGill drifted slightly to the left.

    Commentary more upbeat today.

Last night was brutal commentary wise - then again the snooker was poor enough - between Ken on BBC and JJ on Eurosport, it were all negativity with them - poor shot this, bad shot that.

But it’s not a decider . Will be if Wilson wins this though

Well, the commentary is usually only as good as the play.

Yeah I though the same thing and was surprised Hendry didn’t mention it

    Could be the end here.

Law of average logic is good in my humble opinion.

Despite all the experts on about 50% chance on any coin-toss, even if heads has come up 5 in a row. I'd be backing tails myself @ 10/11 in that situation :D

Come on Wilson, get to that decider, if for no other reason but to to prove that man right.

Not watching, how is the table for McGill?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,994 ✭✭✭c.p.w.g.w

That miss on the pink from Wilson was very wide...but his gonna get another chance

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,534 ✭✭✭Chalk McHugh

Wilson back in. Two reds left on cushion. Safety battle. Wilson 20 ahead.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,634 ✭✭✭lawrencesummers

    McGill is very very disciplined.
It’s impressive that he doesn’t stray from him approach at all, plays the highest percentage shot all the time, not trying to do anything even in the slightest bit mad ever, he might go far in snooker, but he’s never gonna make a highlight reel of top drawer shots.

    The Denis Irwin of snooker.

    Score
    Wilson 48- 29 McGill

2 reds on cushions, all colours on spot...well yellow is closer to the brown

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,534 ✭✭✭Chalk McHugh

    Both reds in open now.

Poor - safety now. 2 reds left - Wilson 19 ahead and about 4/11 fav I feel, despite the 2 reds now in open.

Maybe had a touch of side on cueball but never looked on course anyway.

Think Larry Davids on commentary as all i heard was 'pretty, pretty good'.

I drifted away from the TV, trying to drift back in time for the finish :)

I'll take that bet :D How much do you want wager?

I'd call that gambler's fallacy rather than law of averages

    DECIDER!!!!!

Great pot by Wilson on 2nd last red - no real position on black. Gets it.. ooh, overran for last red he needed. Good snooker behind pink. 27 ahead now, and Wilson about 1/5. make that 1/50 now - red over bag - and in. pots pink - yalla not easy - nails it. Surely decider now.

    Yep, a decider. Gwan Wilson

    Decider time!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,148 ✭✭✭Passenger

These two are on another level compared to Ronnie/Selby. Gonna take a lot to beat either of them in the final.

Yes it did, and not the first to do so into that pocket. Was an even more pronounced one a couple of days back, similar shot. I'd prefer he hit that harder and went up for blue, maybe would have dropped with more pace.

Better SF than those World Champs in the other game.
    Love a decider.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Any preferences or are ye all sittin on the fence?

Ok, fair enough. ;) But it is an entertaining session.

Tough to decide who I'd like to win. It kind of depends on who wins the other semi-final. Tough on either player to lose here.

Only messing, but if for real I'd have 55 to win 50. :p

I'd probably prefer Anthony to get through...but either way, whoever goes through will certainly have earned and deserved it

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,534 ✭✭✭Chalk McHugh

Some effort here from McGill. Where's the nerves? Does he have any?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,485 ✭✭✭DelBoy Trotter

McGill very unlucky with the split there

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,534 ✭✭✭Chalk McHugh

At least he's a bit of a lead and one safe red as insurance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,485 ✭✭✭DelBoy Trotter

Wilson’s brilliance with the rest saving him there

I think he's lacking in that dept. Seems to have gotten 'unlucky' on a lot of those sort of splits through the tourney. Might need to get into cueball more. If he can do that, well top 16 at least.

Terrible miss by Wilson on that easy red

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,485 ✭✭✭DelBoy Trotter

The red on the cushion could be Wilson’s saviour here

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,994 ✭✭✭c.p.w.g.w

Terrible miss by Wilson on that easy red

I think I'd would have got that red Wilson missed

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,358 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

ÀI was just about to say this match is most likely over, and that McGill didn’t do anything wrong. Then, that miss. WOW!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,909 ✭✭✭Neeson

He should have cleaned the shaft down. What a miss.

Terrible miss by Wilson on that easy red

Really awful. Pure nerves but should have been easy nonetheless.
