Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Outrageous from Ronnie to bring the red out!

Lovely shot from Ronnie to take the red off the cushion which deserved to win the frame.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,861 ✭✭✭Mysterypunter

That was a steal, back to a one frame lead for Selby

Technically poor, Eddie Charlton would have potted the red, and played a safety shot on the yellow.

Wow BBC. Thanks for doing your job properly. They'll have coverage on BBC4, BEFORE they finish on BBC2.

That attempted blue was madness from Ronnie

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,359 ✭✭✭henke

That blue. Ah head is gone.

Hang in there Ron. Selby not rock-solid.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,478 ✭✭✭Arthur Daley

Eddie Charlton would have potted the red and snookered behind the yellow

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,148 ✭✭✭testtech05

Anyone else think that the commentary are making too many excuses for Ronnie's attempt at the blue there? With all that is on the game and 1 down in a semi final rolling behind the yellow would have been a tough out for Selby

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,359 ✭✭✭henke

Hang in there Ron. Selby not rock-solid.

I don't think he's got the fight for this. Potting his way to victory seems to be his only strategy.

You're most likely right.... But, if he got it

It's like Ronnie has a prior engagement on this evening that he really wants to go to and this game of snooker is just getting in the way of it.

Ronnie is just hitting it as hard as he can and hoping for the best, probably a tactic I'd use.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,478 ✭✭✭Arthur Daley

Ronnie's blown a gasket now anyway

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,179 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

That's pure muck from O'Sullivan. Equivalent of a big toe, bash it as hard as you can, pot luck effort.

Nobody deserves to win playing like that. And Selby is making hard work of a decent opportunity. He doesn't have control of the cueball.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,148 ✭✭✭testtech05

Ronnie just seems to have given up no interest in anything that isn't a pot.

Had a good target of a group of 3 balls in the middle so wasn't like he had no option but hit and hope.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,667 ✭✭✭Muppet Man

Ronnie needs to cop the hell on with those snooker escapes. Seriously :-(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,112 ✭✭✭BQQ

    Ronnie just relying on luck
He’s getting plenty of it, but never when he does that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,617 ✭✭✭lawrencesummers

The problem with Ronnie is he is playing at 75% but thinks he is playing at 95% he thinks he can pot his way out of trouble.

If he could play the safer percentages a bit more he would t give away so much and be in a chance of the final.

You can only be Invincible Ronnie When your accuracy is high enough.

He hasn't the head for it. It's a shame. If he took a breath and had the focus this match would have been well winnable. Not to be though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,497 ✭✭✭ArnoldJRimmer

Yep, looks like thats it for Ronnie, that last shot was absolute madness

But he probably shouldn't have attempted the red for the blue? Or maybe I am remembering the red wrong.

Like watching Davis v Alex again this

Ronnie's blown it here. Playing any shot no matter how suitable. Really crazy stuff. Entertaining all the same. If he even had a few % more on his long pots he'd have this won.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,480 ✭✭✭AllForIt

Those wild shots are not always the wrong shot but I think you have to play them in context and the way Selby keeps clearing up it was the wrong shot that time. Selby will just think Ronnie has lost it mentally.

Bad and all as he's been he has a great chance of going 15-15 here. Mad stuff

Shaky Selby - John wouldn't have missed that red (intentionally)

Ronnie got away with that missed red I think.

Did Selby play that red as a bit of a shot to nothing to double it in? If so was an excellent shot. Then Ronnie with another smash

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,534 ✭✭✭Chalk McHugh

    Kamikaze Rocket!

Jesus Ronnie, will you stop playing shots like I would after a feed of pints! He's still in this if he calms the head

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,179 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

It'll be an injustice if Ronnie wins this frame. Another whack and hope effort.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,359 ✭✭✭henke

It's remarkable he still has a chance of going level. Find some composure please Ronnie.
