Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Surprising easy miss by Ronnie didn't even jaw it. Can't be letting Wilson off the hook like that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,174 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

    That was good from Wilson.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,534 ✭✭✭Chalk McHugh

I would agree with him. Needs that buffer. Ronnie rarely goes on runs more than four frames in a row.

Don't agree. If Wilson is 9-7 in front at end of day you say he's no chance? If it's 8-8 he has every chance.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,908 ✭✭✭✭Rothko

If Wilson win will it be slightly devalued seeing as he had a bye in the first round?

He would have beaten Anthony Hamilton anyway.

I don’t know, Ronnie always gets huge slices of luck.

Another very poor miss from Ronnie. Any ball can be missed at anytime.

No he doesn't. You're just massively biased.

FFS. I hate this game at times. Ronnie, massive luck, and Wilson brutal.

Agreed. Ronnie gets as much luck (good and bad) as every other player

Someone in the crowd with an umbrella.

More luck for Ronnie. And how many pots has me missed in this frame? At least 3.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,129 ✭✭✭Lundstram

For a final, the quality of snooker is shockingly bad.

Think it's just nerves. Once they settle down, it should get better.

I agree. But it's been poor all tournament.

    Wilson needed that badly

  • Registered Users Posts: 816 ✭✭✭RedDevil55

Good for the match that Wilson won that.

My thoughts exactly, it’s was only the second frame. They both have a frame on the board now so that’ll help them settle down

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,908 ✭✭✭✭Rothko

Great to see Wilson get an early frame.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,437 ✭✭✭weemcd

Nervy frame here with both having multiple chances to close the frame.

Will the crowd being there affect Wilson much? They're massively pro Ronnie to the point where he'll have potential applause for any pott he makes.

Absolute rubbish from Ronnie. Giving Wilson hope when he should have rammed home a 2-0 lead.

Yeah, I was particularly worried about Wilson. Some really nervy shots there.

Those misses in second frame from Ronnie are not down to nerves. He's been mixing the sublime with the appalling all week.

I wonder will Ronnie switch to playing left handed if this continues?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,854 ✭✭✭zuutroy

Defo not buying Joe Davis' book.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,174 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Wilson wasn't even close with that attempted red.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,112 ✭✭✭BQQ

Wilson needs to play some safety shots
Playing into O’Sullivan’s hands handing him chances like that

If he doesn’t tighten up, he’s gonna get steamrollered

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,534 ✭✭✭Chalk McHugh

That's much better Ronnie. Punish his mistakes and pile the pressure on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,174 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Difference between that Ronnie miss and Kyren's in the last frame, is Ronnie got lucky.

Edit: And again. Don't care what anyone says, he gets more than his fair share of luck.

I wonder what the SP is re the crowd - social distancing malarkey, coming and going etc.... Be hopeful there's no problems re late coming back after breaks etc.. Quiet enough crowd so far - not once have I heard anyone shout out even. Early days I know.

    Go on RONNIE!!!!

Makes sense that the better players get more luck surely

You can't afford misses like that Kyren. 3-1 coming up.

    Strange post.

Lesser players make bigger mistakes which are easier to take advantage of.

Ronnie's nickname should be the Mopper Upper.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,534 ✭✭✭Chalk McHugh

Satisfactory 3-1 lead. Good stuff last two frames. Come on Ronnie!!!!!!

Ronnie had at least 3 misses in that frame as well. Admittedly, he got lucky on some of them. But Kyren has to play far, far better.

We get it, he gets luck from time to time. Just because you don't like him doesn't make him luckier than others.

These WC winner flashbacks the BBC are doing are excellent. With all the ridicule he gets, it’s easy to forget that Peter Ebdon was a very good snooker player.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 56,711 ✭✭✭✭walshb

I remember that semi in 2002. Epic..

Ebdon’s win 2002 my favorite final win..

Is mid session interval a 20 minutes interval?

I’d say nobody has played better than Matthew Stevens did there without winning

Don't know, always thought it was 15 - seems longer this year though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,174 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

I've just come back in to see Kyren make a terrible miss with the rest.

Yes. It’s why I asked..seemed wee bit longer than I recall!

That's what we were missing all along before today - Fake applause, but no fake "OOOhh's".

  • Registered Users Posts: 348 ✭✭Raving_Magic

Both players are missing so much. Two poor misses by Wilson and Ronnie there
