    Abruzzo. Simple but elegant. Something calming and reassuring about it.

    Basque country is a little too close to the Union Jack in design (by way of Denmark, for some reason?), and Hauts-de-France just overuses an already overused symbol.

    While I personally prefer the Basque one and find it somewhat iconic, I’m gonna have to take the reasons given into account.

    Zaph and Quickbeam’s votes are nearly identical and cancel each other out, both are good shouts. I think Homer J Fong’s post is the clincher though as it says exactly what he likes about his choice and doesn’t like about the others.

    Groningen. A more colourful take on the Nordic cross.

    I like the watery/wavy effect on the Zeeland crest but I'm sick of that damn heraldic lion so it loses marks for that.
    And while the simplicity of the stars and castle design of Drenthe is quite nice, the overused red and white colour scheme makes it less interesting. If it actually had those black/grey ripples like in that photo then it would be a cool flag!

    Yeah the reason I have to use the ripple effect ones on some of the flags is because the white doesn't show up on a white background so some flags would look incomplete.

    Saxony Anhalt. I'm not sure why there's a bear precariously balanced on the turrets of castle, but I'm all for it! The simple yellow and black colour scheme and the incorporation of the eagle gives us something very German.

    Galilica is pleasant but a bit heavy on the religious symbolism. And the other one is just....meh. Not bad, just meh.
