Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Electricity provider charging LUSC to HBP recipients

Helped someone on HBP switch electricity provider to Electric Ireland.
Free Electricity Allowance(FEA) paid into bank account prior. DSP informed of change.
Their first bill had a low usage standing charge(LUSC) applied (8.63c/day. HBP recipients exempt)
It was queried, EI said FEA must be credited to bill, refused to refund the LUSC charge, a current letter from DSP confirming HBP & FEA was sent in as proof, still EI insist FEA be credited to bill. DSP want to continue to pay into account. Complaint still being processed

Is anyone else getting their FEA paid into bank account instead of credited to their energy bill and having this hassle with the energy supplier?

The electricity allowance is €1.15 per day. If you are with EI then this is credited to your 2 monthly bill. It can’t be done any other way. What exactly is the issue? It’s not clear from your post.
    Edit:
I’ve reread your post. Does the standing charge apply to the period in between when this person changed over to EI and DSP applied the benefit?

They switched from SSE to EI. FEA kept being paid into bank account by DSP despite being informed of supplier change.
The first bill from EI had the low usage charge applied.

DSP keep insisting on payment into account, hence why they gave a letter of confirmation - I guess it is simpler with twelve providers now and more switching.

Looks like no one else has this issue. I'll update in a few weeks with the result of the complaint.
