    Away to Hearts in quarters

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,781 ✭✭✭eire4

Given we were drawn at home the last 2 rounds odds were we would get an away draw but that is about as tough a draw as we could get especially considering who is left.

Another great display from us today, hatate brilliant today,Kyogo looking good after last weeks scare,Roll on next Sunday.

Deservedly leading the Cup Final at halftime.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,329 ✭✭✭RoryMac

Some of our attacking play has been quite sloppy, Maeda good at getting into positions but poor decisions, Jota hasn't got going at all.

Think Rangers having to push on in the 2nd half will help us create chances if we can hold out for the first 10 mins

The better team but need to make it count. Some of the lads like Maeda and Jota seem a little nervous. Get settled and we’ll win. Need another goal or two to put them beyond reach.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,213 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

Only 1 team in it in the 2nd half.

    Fully deserved 2 nil lead.

Deserved win for Celtic. Rode out that Rangers spell in the 2nd half.

Brilliant. Made harder work of it than needed perhaps but much better team. Enjoyed that fireworks display at the start of the second half.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,329 ✭✭✭RoryMac

Made it toughter for ourselves than it should've been but got there in the end and should've finished one of the chances right at the finish.

Great to get another trophy to add to the pile and cement our dominance. Rangers showed their standards scurrying off to the dressing room after collecting another set of losers medals

  • Registered Users Posts: 254 ✭✭dom40

Another trophy today,Not our best performance but we could have had at least 2 more goals in the last few minutes, l thought Johnson had a very good game today,The ref was OK and no VAR needed,(I was worried before kick off that VAR and the officials would do us over)thankfully not.Another great Sunday Thank you Celtic.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,640 ✭✭✭TheCitizen

Johnston was nervous I thought but showed enough about him and will improve over time. It was his needless handball that caused the free that got the other lot back into a game that we thoroughly dominated. Maeda wasnt great going forward but did a great job on Tarvernier and completely nullified him.

Ange has complete control of this. We should and with Ange I think we will go on to obliterate them this season with ease and focus on being more competitive in next year’s Champions League.

Celtic players having an absolute stinker in the first half of the game. 1-0 down from a peno we would never get, ball to hand from about 10 inches. St Mirren had a player correctly sent off and Celtic have a peno overturned (probably correctly but very close). The resulting freekick was an utter embarrassment from Celtic

Jota, Maeda and Mooy will be lucky to last the game as they have been rotten thus far

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,419 ✭✭✭✭A Dub in Glasgo

Great determination from Jota to equalise

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,419 ✭✭✭✭A Dub in Glasgo

Johnston scores the second (could be an own goal though)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,419 ✭✭✭✭A Dub in Glasgo

Ange gave them a rocket at half time as we scored 5 in the 2nd half

    Jota 1-1

    Johnston (or og) 1-2

    Abada 1-3

    O'Riley 1-4

    Oh (pen) 1-5

  • Registered Users Posts: 254 ✭✭dom40

Another 5 against these again, they are a stubborn outfit and dirty too, they know they can get away with it with the officials turning a blind eye,Jota a different player in the second half a lot more determined and got his goal, good to see AJ get his first goal and another good performance from him,We never stop.

That penalty should not have been overruled. I understand if the offence continues into the penalty area then it is a penalty

Edit: It would appear that the offending player has to be in the penalty box for a penalty to be given so correct decision

Agreed. Without being at our best we were definitely the better team and fully deserved the win.

  • Registered Users Posts: 254 ✭✭dom40

the amount of fouling on us by the diets and that idiot Neilson crying for a red card for Bernabie, makes me sick.Lets batter these again on Saturday and make him cry some more.We never stop.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,781 ✭✭✭eire4

It is quite remarkable how much Nielson hates us. Every single game he is constantly whinging about something and last night was no exception despite his team being well beaten by us even when we rarely ever really got any where near the levels we are capable of this season. Of course he mentions the Bernabei tackle which was a yellow but never a straight red but as usual forgets his own players actions. Cammy Devlin got away with a succession of fouls before he eventually got a yellow in the second never mind the nasty tackle on Hahate just a minute after he came off the bench.

Mooy after 2 mins. Hopefully few more to come

  • Registered Users Posts: 254 ✭✭dom40

The dirty diets were put back in their box today,They could not cope with us despite trying to injure us at every opportunity, I thought AJ was superb again today and CCV was totally in charge and getting his goal .We never stop.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,781 ✭✭✭eire4

That was some performance. Totally dominated from start to finish. Excellent performances all over the park. Even Neilson had nothing he could moan about after the game especially since once again VAR helped them out against us when the ref wasn't even told to look after Johnston was clearly fouled in the box after making a cross late in the first half with the score only 1-0 at that point. The semi-final draw not till Monday night so a while yet to find out who we will play at Hampden in the semi-final.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,329 ✭✭✭RoryMac

I expected that to be a lot harder than it turned out to be. Great start and goal from Mooy, should've had a pen before half time but result never in doubt.

I felt our form had taken a slight drop a few weeks ago but we got the results, didn't drop any points and won the cup.

Now we look to be getting back to our best

    Cup semi v Rangers.

Pity, would've been great to wrap up the treble in front of them in the final

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,419 ✭✭✭✭A Dub in Glasgo

Opportunity to finish their season by end of April is not a bad consolation

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,419 ✭✭✭✭A Dub in Glasgo

Scrappy game today and Celtic came from behind to win 3-1. Hatate went off injured early with looks like a hamstring injury.

    Goals

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,329 ✭✭✭RoryMac

Only caught the second half and we looked decent but heard the 1st half was poor. Hopefully Hatate's injury isn't too bad. Nice to see Oh get a goal from open play and looked like he's starting to find his feet. Haksabanovic has looked good off the bench in the last few games, must be due a bit of a run in the team

  • Registered Users Posts: 254 ✭✭dom40

We missed a lot of chances today it was all a bit to much tippy tappey at times when someone should have just taken a shot at goal,Starfelt really not helping us with that stupid Jersey pull for the penalty,(when the feck is Joe ever going to save one)We really missed Hatate when he went off injured but second half we got ourselves back in form and finished them off with a lovely couple of goals,We never stop.

2-0 win in Dingwall, loads of chances and Kyogo missed a glorious chance in the second half. We finally got one of those handball penalties. Oh looked sharp and I think he will be great for us

    Jota penalty

    Bernabei (first goal for Celtic)

  • Registered Users Posts: 254 ✭✭dom40

MacKay doing some crying about the penalty, much more of a penalty than the one they got against us when the ball hit o Reillys arm last November,Walker on sky also saying it was never a penalty, dunno what he looking at but the ball clearly come off the RC players arm PENALTY all day long,Another good performance from CCV and AJ,Starfelt still making too many mistakes,OReilly has been poor again today, how the feck did Kyogo miss that,we are missing Hatate badly but we got the job done today should have been 4 or 5 ,hope Taylor is ok,Roll on Saturday.

  • Registered Users Posts: 254 ✭✭dom40

Get set for the Scottish media and press shouting Ange for the Leicester Post now that the quare fella has gone.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,329 ✭✭✭RoryMac

Poor first half from us, a lot of sloppy passing stopping us from getting control of the game. Mooy looks miles off the pace today.

Picked up a few yellows which might give us issues in the second half.

Hopefully we'll up our game second half

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,213 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

Worst I've seen Celtic play in a long time.

And with that, they take the lead again.

But lot of shoddy performances all over the pitch today.

    Jota 3-1.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,290 ✭✭✭✭paulie21

Bernabei clean through and squares it to nobody

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,329 ✭✭✭RoryMac

Title race over now, got the win without playing anywhere near our best. Some decent performances from us, Johnston especially was excellent

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,419 ✭✭✭✭A Dub in Glasgo

Played poorly but still win to extend the lead to 12 points

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,536 ✭✭✭crossman47

Yes Celtic were poor. Rangers are rubbish but we gave them hope. There is a need to tighten up for the cup game. Passing has to be sharper .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,781 ✭✭✭eire4

No question we were well short of our best yesterday. Having said that we still deserved to win the game.

  • Registered Users Posts: 698 ✭✭✭Stewball

I thought Mooy really looked his age yesterday. I know he had a knock for the last couple of weeks, so maybe that was part of it.

If Hatate is back fit for the cup game - I'd start O'Riley alongside him & Calmac.

3-0 after 20 minutes and a missed penalty. Wonder what the Scottish prem record win is, suspect it's in double figures anyway.

Kilmarnock can't seem to kee a handle on Kobayashi

  • Registered Users Posts: 254 ✭✭dom40

Great 1st half, second half best forgotten about,Still 3 points taken on this horrible pitch from a horrible team,OReilly been very good and 2 cracking goals from him and motm.
