Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I had to google where he was now.

Still at Sunderland according to wikipedia without being given a squad number.

He was passed his best when he left us ten years ago.

Talks of McGeady coming back. I really hope not but it would not surprise me at all.

Don't think there was any real talk of him coming back, he said in an interview that he'd love to come back but realises that's not going to happen

Phil Parkinson foolishly trying to prove a point Aiden wants to stay.

Can't see him going back to Paradise.

No his time at Celtic is done but could see him going elsewhere in the spfl. I think Hibernian was mentioned as a possible destination.

Great result today. The waste of money played well.

Great result today. The waste of money played well.

Duffy will be a colossus for us this season. Delighted for him to live his dream and score for The Hoops (milled poor Jullien out of his way). Thought he was unreal defensively in the second half too. Will be some force in the air for us.

Goalkeeper showed us what he has too.

Great options from the bench and the strikers all getting on the scoresheet.

Get a good LB/LWB in and we’ll be a fine squad (already are a fine squad in my view but that’s the weak link).

Lenny has keep on top of it all. We’re clearly the strongest team and squad. Consistency is crucial.

Celtic can go top if they win the next two games (St Mirren away on Wednesday and Livingston home on Saturday) with Rangers away to Hibs on Sunday

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,605 ✭✭✭TheCitizen

Without actually clicking and showing our best form in attacking areas that was an emphatic victory. The 3-5-2 system looks to be the best one for our players although mixing it up from time to and having other go to options available is important.

    Despite Bolingoli’s best efforts.....

Bolingoli now gone to Basaksehir FK in Turkey on loan. Champions League team, I believe.

Good news for the club, he could never have turned out for us again.

What a couple of weeks this has been for Duffy unreal debut goal and grew into the game and was utterly commanding in the second half. The most encouraging thing for me after yesterdays game was we were IMHO far far away from being at our best and looked very rusty in our passing and defending at times especially in the first half. Yet were so so dangerous when we did put it together and a special mention to Barkas who was excellent in the nets.

Klimala gets the start tonight which will do no harm to his confidence. Ajeti and Ntcham on the bench.

Probably feels that Ajeti is not ready yet fitness wise for 2 starts this week with Saturdays game in mind on top of last weekends start. Last Saturdays start was his first since last January.

    Edouard misses a peno

Finishes 2-1, not pretty but it's 3 points. On to a home game on Saturday.

Stuffy game against an ultra defensive St Mirren especially after basically spotting them a goal lead. Our play in the final third was slow but having said that we did more then enough to win the game it just was far from us firing on all cylinders.

I got a laugh off this, he's not joking. Hopefully we don't rely on set pieces too much though.

I don't think there is any fear of us relying on set pieces. We have been woeful with set piece delivery for the most part for a long time now. I like Christie as a player but the quality of his delivery is at best sporadic in terms of quality. If he improves or we get someone else who can delivery the ball with quality on any kind of consistent basis then having Duffy and Jullien now as threats on set pieces just adds to our attacking options IMHO.

Did he pick that team by drawing names out of a hat?

Certainly looks that way, not sure what he's at with his team selections. Anyway hopefully won't cost us today

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,337 ✭✭✭rockatansky

Yeah we should on paper have enough quality to get a win here and go top of the league.

I just don't understand how we're supposed to find our next gear, get the rust off, step up the level that everyone says we still haven't reached yet if we're still trying out different formations for each game.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,337 ✭✭✭rockatansky

0-1, peno for Livingston. No real argument, Ajer with the hand high.

Seems to have kicked them into life and have turned the deficit around and lead 2-1. McGregor and Christie.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,337 ✭✭✭rockatansky

A few changes mid way through the second half should get us another goal or two.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,359 ✭✭✭henke

Ajeti with the 3rd. He looks to have goals in his locker.

Frimpong having a great game also.

Got the win in the end but defence looks a bit of a concern. Good to be back on top. After the Bolongoli debacle as was mentioned you would rather the points on the board than the games in hand so good to have the points there now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,337 ✭✭✭rockatansky

Yes we're top of the league as expected, but I have a bad feeling that we're going to be caught out in the near future, and we'll all be saying it's been coming.

    Something just doesn't seem right.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,260 ✭✭✭DavidLyons_

We’re going to be fine lads. Nervy last 10 today but dominated the ball for most of the game and the peno was unlucky.

Lenny needs to firm up the midfield and although Taylor isn’t the worst, a LB/LWB is severely needed.

The depth and strength of the squad - in comparison to all the others in the league - will be very evident after Christmas.

After the Bolingoli shambles, we could be in a much worse state by this stage.

    Keep the faith.

And good too see them lose this record breaking clean sheet run they had been on. Celtic home to Hibs next. Good performance key.

Almost identical to last season just two goals worse off. I'd say a similar graph for Rangers would show a marked upward trajectory but we're still good enough to be better than them.
