    My votes in bold.

Kanye Stronger v Bob Marley One Love - Happy reggae pop tune.

Tracy Chapman Baby Can I Hold You v Dobie Gray Drift Away - pretty lovesong with nice guitar.

Blind Blake Diddie Wa Diddie v James Brown This is a Man's Man's Man's World - Brilliant, yet another discovery today! Would have gone for James until I heard this little, eh, ditty!!

OutKast Ms. Jackson v The Dixie Cups Chapel Of Love - A bit twee perhaps, but cute!

    I'll vote for Ms. Jackson
Wouldn't be the biggest Outkast fan but that is a brilliant tune. Also I'm single so happy-clappy wedding songs can piss off.

Also voting for One Love, in case of a late Kanye charge.

    Fun Facts

The Black Eyed Peas  I Gotta Feeling
Originally an alternative hip hop group, they subsequently refashioned themselves as a more marketable pop-rap act. Although the group was founded in Los Angeles in 1995, it was not until the release of their third album Elephunk, in 2003, that they achieved high record sales. Black Eyed Peas have sold an estimated 80 million records, making them one of the best-selling groups of all time.

Black Eyed Peas' first major hit was the 2003 single "Where Is the Love?" from Elephunk, which topped the charts in 13 countries, including the United Kingdom, where it spent seven weeks at number one and went on to become Britain's biggest-selling single of 2003. Their fourth album, Monkey Business, was an even bigger worldwide success, and became certified 4× Platinum in the United States.

In 2009, the group became one of only 11 artists to have simultaneously held the number-one and number-two spots on the Billboard Hot 100, with their singles "Boom Boom Pow" and "I Gotta Feeling".

In March 2011, I Gotta Feeling became the first song in digital history to sell over 7 million digital copies in the United States. As of June 2019, "I Gotta Feeling" has over 9 million downloads in the country, and it currently holds the record as the most downloaded song on iTunes of all time. This also makes it the highest selling digital as well as non-charity single in the US ever.

"I Gotta Feeling" spent 14 consecutive weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100, making it the longest-running number-one single of 2009. The song was the third most successful song of the decade in Australia, as announced on January 7, 2010. Worldwide, it was the most successful song of the 21st century (with estimates putting combined sales and streams between 13 and 15 million units) until passed by "Happy" by Pharrell Williams in 2014.

But boardsies voted them out first round and they won't feature again.

    Well.i.am surprised with that result.

The worst thing about "I Gotta Feeling" is that it gets played everywhere any time there's a suggestion of a night out or a good time. It's played to death.

A much better tune with a similar title, and still qualifying for this thread is this one: https://youtu.be/4ct5puqTSi0

I'd still get sick of it of it was overplayed though.

Well it was up against Miss Nina Simone, so I can understand why people (including me) didn't vote for them.

The Dixie Cups Chapel Of Love
It spent three weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. It sold over one million copies, and was awarded a gold disc. The song was later included on the soundtrack to films ranging from Full Metal Jacket to Father Of The Bride. It was covered by The Ronettes, Bette Midler, The Beach Boys & Elton John amongst others.

Knocked out by Outkast Ms. Jackson.

More fun facts possibly copied and pasted from wikipedia coming later about the songs & artists eliminated, but next up at 12.30 a resumption of the first round.
