Same as the meat factories connections I would suspect. Other than that I have no idea, but it is ridiculous. However these people seem to have connections. Wink.

The meat factories are in big trouble, Michael McNamara outed their behaviour...

No, the issue is why did Gov allow Asylum seekers to work in the first place. It was probably part of a grand plan anyway.

Not one meat factory has been told to close, work that one out, while other businesses have. I am not one bit impressed have to say, and am very suspicious now.

I think your true colours are out now. End of conversation. Maybe message Farage and join his party.

These are not Asylum seekers. They were once but have been given residency rights and can legally work just like you and me. There is no affordable housing available so they choose to stay in the DP centres. It’s cheap !

they stay there because the guys that buy up old hotels and unused buildings and throw them together in a fashion thats barely suitable for animal, let alone human inhabitance get paid millions every year to house them in whats known as jobs for the boys or brown envelope culture that the whole Irish economy revolves around. Theres a lad local to us here that owns a company and all they do is this sort of work. He's made millions from it. The latest one has 200 Syrians in 30 rooms apparently.

If you look at the border between Offaly and WestMeath it runs down the middle of the road in places.

I live along one of those roads (on the Offaly side), border is about 600m down the road. Fear not, I have a plan....

Asylum seekers can work for a minimum yearly salary now.

It is obviously the housing/socialising situation that is causing this outbreak. So what would you think is the solution?

There is something rotten about all this IMO.

Seems to me that meat factories can carry on, but other businesses cannot, oh and the races in the Curragh can go ahead too.

Guess who have connections. LOL. If I lived in LOK counties I would be livid.

You keep repeating this but haven't been able to say what your source is.

    Are you just guessing?

Yes the rotten thing is Covid. Point made but you seem to be ignoring the points i have made for why meat plants havent closed vs why local businesses have. They would be deemed key in keep our economy alive given how big food and agri is in Ireland, i suspect you will be first person in 12 months given out about tax raises due to poor economy performance. Theres just no winning so you have to trust we have good smart people in charge.

Well have the meat factories been told to close?

Are the races in the Curragh going ahead.

No to no.1, and yes to no.2.

Well have the meat factories been told to close?.

You're the one presenting that they haven't.

    I'll ask again.

    Are you just guessing?

    Which ones have already closed?

Do you know how much money horse racing generates? The same people whinging about businesses being shutdown and balooning national debt are the same people whinging about the horse racing. It worth millions to the gov every year. They can do it with social distancing its outdoors. Use your heads.

It’s on RTE news site that one of the ministers Donnelly states that Meat plants should shut during restrictions. Of course that’s his opinion and not law.

Curragh races are going ahead in the morning.

The list from the Gov hasn't mentioned meat factories closing.

The list from Gov has not banned the horse racing from the Curragh tomorrow.

Look it up yourself if you don't agree with me. Do your own research and rebut my post. Thanks.

The list from the Gov hasn't mentioned meat factories closing.

    So you're guessing.

You've no idea what they've discussed with the HSE.

You appear to have no idea which ones were open this week.

You appear to have no idea which ones closed this week.

You don't know which ones (if any) are going to open on Monday.

Are you feeling ok. You sound very aeriated now.

TBH no one knows, but I reckon you do and best of luck telling everyone else how they should feel. No offence intended at all, so don't take it personally, ok?

I don't view them as the same. I think they're brought in and exploited. It suits everyone until a situation like this arisses and throws the spotlight all over it. Theres massive profit involved for business men in housing them.

Then why you supporting Spanish in his comments? He keeps referring to them as asylum seekers, when corrected you jumped in to clarify. If you disagree then leave him sink.

The curragh is going ahead, but behind closed doors.

Didn't even realise I had to be honest. I thought I was supporting your post when you suggested they weren't really asylum seekers. I think its all a nice little cosy situation where everyone's a winner. Particularly the guys getting paid taxpayers money to house the workers and the meat factory operators.

    From the HSE:

    Not isolation but restricted.

Not particularly connected to the KOL lockdown but anyway.

Requested, not ordered to. You don't have to do it, in other words, but sure it'd still be grand if you could.
