Sort of a box-to-box midfielder. Excellent at shielding the ball in possession, lots of energy. Very good player and good at penalties also.

Kessie would be stronger and better defensively but not as good at arriving in the box at the end of a move.

And yet both teams are 2nd in 2 of the best 4 leagues in Europe. Imagine that.

Both teams missing star players but fact is that these are probably 2 of the top 10-15 teams in Europe. The words "very poor" just make the post look silly really. Thought it was a good game and AC looked good in midfield but a bit toothless up front. United created better chances but with an ageing Matic in there were getting overrun at times.

Hopefully both teams can get their players back for the 2nd leg.

You don’t watch him play much, it’s obvious. Most of United attacks go through him.

Staggering that a clearly intelligent and knowledgeable man does not appear to have advanced his tactical approach one jot since he was the plucky underdog at Porto 17 years ago.

Even aside from this, Spurs should be comfortable in the top 4 given the patchy seasons Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool have had.

Just started watching from 1st half saw the 'St Anne's Park' goal Milan conceded. They seem to be around the same level as the PL used to be back in the early 90's. Retirement home for fellas like Ibra. Young lads that did not make the cut in the PL.

What a fall from grace Milan used to be the aristocrats.

This is their best season in close to a decade I'd say. They've been an irrelevance in Serie A for a long time, finally got into a bit of a title chase this season, and look alright to make the Champions League for the first time in ages.

There was a time their fans were snubbing the idea of Celtic and Rangers having to start below the Premier League. Looks laughable now.

First goal Spurs conceded was weird, Keeper looks like he's getting to it, big hand, fingers extended, and then he closes fingers just as ball goes past his hand as to not save it.

They wouldn't have many Scottish players playing for them after a while that is for sure.

I can't remember the last time I watch the Scottish league. Pointless, two teams brand names built on a religious divide from another country and damn all else.

The nr. 3 in the EPL got knocked out by the same team that eliminated Rangers.

Rangers going out in the last 16 is hardly proof that they wouldn't hold their own in the Premier League.
