That's what George Hamilton said, but it was for the defender's foot landing on his ankle.


Very similar to Digne I thought, and surprised it was only a yellow as it doesn't constitute a valid attempt to get the ball.


I wonder if VAR would have made a different decision had it not been pretty much the final kick of the game.

Looking forward to seeing how Krasnodar's Safonov gets on against Chelsea. He impressed me last year and I used to look out for his matches on the Russian FA's Youtube channel. From what was shown, he was offside. Commentator on Virgin said from another angle, the defenders knee/shoulder played him onside. Apparently.

This secrecy bit is fierce annoying . We ‘ var’ have another angle that shows something different to what you can see. Just show , even the frame when the ball is kicked. It can’t be that hard..
I honestly think these var officials are bluffing their way through tight decisions
