Irish police seem to operate very very strangely - letting Irish police officers go on television and tell the public that someone is “probably” and “suspected” of being guilty of crimes that they have never proven or charged him with is amateur hour.

Does the US not do something similar for example

    'The 10 most Wanted"

Are any of those charged prior to going on that list? or correct me if I'm wrong

Everyone on the US lists has been formally charged with the crime they are wanted for, it is still “alledged” because it hasn’t been proven yet - the Irish haven’t even charged him with anything

    K I stand corrected there

Doesn't seem unreasonable. 5 years minimum with a 14 year maximum. No guilty plea. No remorse shown in court which shows him to be particularly stupid. Little in the way of mitigation presented by his defence. 10 years seems about right.

It does, however, seem ridiculous that, for all his arrogance and stupidity, this lad got a heavier sentence than several people who were en route to commit an actual murder have been given.

Sean Little's father also got six years. His co accused, who had a more substantial record, got 9 years. Alan Wilson, six years. Luke Wilson, 11. Derek Hutch, 10 years caught en route to a hit. Richard O'Reilly, six years.

The going rate seems to be- intent to murder with a minor criminal record (which Alan Wilson inexplicably has) six years. Intent to murder with a bad record, 9- 12 years.

10 years for conspiracy to fire a warning shot through a window in the middle of the night seems excessive when compared to these lads.
Should be the standard. Ten years for possessing a firearm, higher for actually using one.

Will never fly in this country. It's a 13 year minimum for posessing 10K or more worth of drugs. Judges are at their discretion to override this based on mitigating circumstances, and nearly always do.

My girlfriends brother got 9 years for possession of 150k worth of heroin.
He got out in 6 and a years probation.
6 years being 9months a year in prison he actually only done 4 and half years.
Wished he got the full 13 because he's already dealing again.
He got 9years for it even though he has 30+previous.
Judges are a joke and system is a joke

the issue is not that this guy got too harsh a sentence but the others got too lenient a sentence. I can't remember the details of the other cases but perhaps they plead guilty or were smart enough to not sit in the court like they were the dogs bollocks.

Conor McGregors sister Aoife, her husband got 5 or 6 years in jail after being caught in a house with a s**t load of money and drugs well over €10,000, forget his name but I remember reading about it years ago.

That right there is why the system is broken and doesn't look like it be ever fixed! Crime unfortunately pays in this country. If you get into a scrap through no fault of your own and done some damage you would get Jail or be very close to it. Yet the scrum bags get off with this most the time with previous as 1. They know what solicitor to go too. 2. They know how to play the system drug addiction, gambling problem, abused etc etc

I have seen this happen to numerous people my cousin been one. Been on a night out with his misses some scum bag was harassing her asking her to give him a Bj, that he'd rape her etc off his head. They left 2 pubs as my cousin didn't want any trouble. He followed them out of both. Cousin told him to fcuk off a few times, he wouldn't. Fight broke out in the end and he broke his Jaw. 4 years of a court case later he got a 12 month suspended sentence and had to pay him a few grand! Your man was 4 years older than my cousin and twice his size (both early 20's).. but because he got the better of him the little scum bag got him charged! he was never in trouble had a good job he didn't even know what solicitor to go to etc and didnt tell anyone... what a joke..

DK will be caught... nothing surer. The Gardai have been over to the UAE and spoke to the UAE police. The last thing the UAE want is the world's media suggesting they harbour high level criminals. Bad for business.
Whether there is hard evidence or not there is nothing to stop them deporting him back here whenever they like. Plus ultimately Sheikh Mohammed does what he likes.
One phone call from Joe Biden(nixer) and its done. Bit too low key for Joe agreed. But I'd even say there's probably 3 or 4 people in the horse racing industry in Ireland who could influence heavily there. The Sheikh loves his horses and has serious interests here.
Whether its done politically or through police channels or through back door channels...its gonna happen. Its just a matter of time.
The game was up for Pablo when he went for the TDs job.
    Moral of the story...
    "Stick to the knitting"

Yeah but the Gardai flew out to Dubai to talk with their counterparts 6 months ago and still nothing has happened. Its also been talked about at diplomatic levels yet still he remains there. I find it strange that he hasnt found another country to live in given he knows the heat is being put on him. Hes already seen the Danish and Dutch cartel leaders extradited from Dubai so why hang around for a knock on the door? Unless of course he knows he is protected from up on high and has nothing to worry about. There was suggestions on this thread that he is an asset of an intelligence agency, the longer he is allowed to stay in Dubai without any problems the more that looks like a possibility. Its all very strange.

From the boldness of DK's statement to TalkSPORT, and the prominence that they gave it,
there's a fair chance that he's offered them first refusal, when (and if) he eventually does
an interview to be broadcast in the UK . Remember he is by all accounts, a **** hot negotiator/scarer.
(You also have to take into account who owns TalkSPORT, when you're looking at why they chose to
    broadcast it)
I can't be the only person on here that can't make his mind up on whether DK is going to be brought
down by the end of the year, or whether he'll become untouchable (as long as he doesn't move out of
the UAE) and becomes even bigger than he currently is.
The other thing that people have to remember, is that everybody involved in the KOCG/MTK are humans, and
will have to face all of the same type of crap that we all face in life, on top of the pressures of what they do
    - Christy Snr will no doubt get grief off JC for the profile that they now have because of his oldest son
    - DK will get stick from his Mrs for the rumours relating to the birds that he has on the side
    - Sean McGovern will have to listen to his Mrs saying that it's too hot, and she wants home to see her family
    - Danny Vaughan will be sitting watching the telly, looking at Sandra, wondering if DK really did smash her back doors in
    - Liam Byrne will be scared to let his dog out of the house to do a piss in the garden, in case someone's lying in wait
    - Lee Byrne will be suffering anxiety attacks over how many likes his Instagram posts are receiving
    - Ronan Cruse will be sitting in his big house wondering when the heat's going to land at his door
    - Tyson Fury will always be one brainstorm away from alienating another race, creed or group
    - Billie Joe Saunders training will be suffering due to his addiction to social media
    and
    - Matthew 'no involvement in crime' Macklin will be sitting back wondering why he never gets the attention that he so richly deserves!
Just think of how hard it is for the rest of us stuck here during lockdown, and not being able to leave the country.
We all know that one day, the mist will rise, and we'll all get to bolt to Benidorm/Algarve/Canaries/Orlando/Las Vegas/Thailand
    They guys can't.

The Irish police are a total shambles, only police force I’ve ever heard of who go public with naming people and letting officers give interviews naming people - without ever proving guilt or even charging them for anything.

Quite strange that people close to the wig keep getting found dead at home in strange circumstances, and talk about strange weird that Mark Kavanagh was given bail in the UK, yet Price has not and will be in court in December.

Grew up in the Bond so would have grown up fairly rough I'd say. I heard Christy wasn't from poverty as is the odd gangster in Dublin. In fairness Christy had some ambition and was clearly a strategic thinker. The fact he learned a few languages and got a masters in prison and then went on to establish the cartel on a European scale in what is the most ruthless business says a lot.

Yep. CK Senior is from Charleville Rd in Phibsborough. Beautiful brownstone homes that fetch between 600k-700k in today's market. Although back then, Phibsborough wasn't as trendy as it is today.

Kinahan and his supporters like Saunders are now even taunting the guards by saying either put Kinahan in jail or shut up. The guards have been made to look like fools.

I don't think anyone is untouchable in the long term. I can't believe DK has fueled the media fire..the smart move is to stay quiet and eventually the focus will move on..unless of course he is an intelligence asset...

10 years, none suspended, for having a gun and a single bullet? That surely must be some sort of record.

This lad, in comparison, got 6 years for an actual murder plot, and is out already.

I know it's Martin Nolan, but still, the Cork one seems ridiculously excessive. Particularly given it appears O'Reilly was prepared to let off in a crowded pub, the lad in Cork with one bullet was likely off to put a window in.

The fella in Cork is a convicted rapist of an old women judge threw the book at him this time

This man gets it, the way they have handled the case has ruined any chance of a normal trial with a jury ever happening. You cannot let police officers go on television and accuse someone of something they never charged him with, let alone made it to a trial and convicted him.

For whatever reason - you be the judge - they also don’t want him on the stand giving evidence to a public jury that is also clear at this point. It’s a SCC court with no public and no jury or nothing at this point.

Interesting I didn’t know that, I’ve only just got into this after watching the panaroma documentary, so this whole thing might rest on a special court only Ireland has ? After him getting all charges dropped by the Spanish? This whole thing really is like something out of a film it’s crazy

Out of interest, why do some gangland murder trials (rare as they are) go to jury and others to SCC? Is it a case that expendable hitmen who did it to clear a debt are reckoned to have less clout to threaten jurors, whereas people like Freddie Thompson have actual friends capable of doing something?

Seems strange the DPP can class somebody as a heavy hitter or an accidental hitman, sort of pre judges the defendant from the start.

Trying to understand sentences Judge Sean O Donnabhain hands down can be tough, on the same day a couple of months ago he gave a fella 2 years for a small personal cannabis grow and a suspended sentence to a fella who molested a seriously ill school girl in hospital.

I agree that it does look strange on face value. But put yourself in the shoes of the Dubai DEA or whatever they call themselves.
They have CK, DK and CKjun living around the corner. They know they are organising the shipments of huge quantities from S Ame in to Europe.
    So its Surveillance Central.
Lots of it. Maybe they are just waiting until they get the right evidence to bang them away for 20 years instead of 5.
None of us know for sure ( well some on here might!) but I'd imagine they have massive surveillance on them. As smart as the crew think they are... youre not gonna outsmart an internationally resourced team of superstar detectives for ever.... most of whom get off on catching the big fish. After all they cracked enchrochat.

One or more of the crew above has to get the messages and the dollars to the South Americans by some means. Its just a matter of catching them in the act.
    Time waits for no man.
