It came out in in court that Patrick Curtis was the leader of a Kinahan sub cell which was specifically set up to murder Patsy Hutch. Of the sub cell nine of them are now convicted and in prison.

Heres the 9 and their sentences-
    Ciaran o'Driscoll - the lookout - 5 years
Michael Burns - supervisor and organised logistics and cars - 9 years
Stephen Curtis - bought burner phones and sims - 5 years
Patrick Curtis - sub cell supervisor - 10 years
Mark Capper -original hitman but pulled out- 7.5 years
Gary Thompson - hit team- 12.5 years
Glen Thompson - hit team- 12.5 years
Robert Browne -an Afghan war veteran part of the hit team - 11.5 years
Mohamed Smew- Was on the hit team but pulled out because he got arrested for looting a stop in Tallaght during the Big Snow of 2018, I presume this is the Lidl in Fortunestown that got ransacked with a JCB - 7.5 years

Thats some good work by the Gardai, an entire sub cell taken down with sentences totalling more than 80 years.

Another nugget that came out in court was that Patrick Curtis was taking instructions from a senior member of the Kinahan cartel. They communicated by encrypted phone but Curtis couldnt remember all the instructions so he took photographs of the encrypted messages on his own phone. This turned out to be key evidence in convicting him. Also the senior cartel member was code named "Lord Nose":pac:

The best part of the case though was mitigation for Patrick Curtis. His barrister asked for a lesser sentence because Curtis claims he is claustrophobic and wouldnt be able to handle the size of a prison cell. We see some mad sh1t in mitigation but this has to take the biscuit. By the sounds of it the judge just laughed at his excuses

A doctor told Patrick Curtis' sentence hearing last month that jailing the claustrophobic senior Kinahan Cartel member was like putting "a man with arachnophobia in a cell with spiders". Dr Conor McGarry, a GP attached to Portlaoise Prison, said that Patrick Curtis was diagnosed with excessive compulsive disorder and had historic issues which have impacted on his ability to cope with prison in Ireland. He said the defendant got locked in a car at the age of seven, broke his fingernails attempting to get out of the vehicle and had suffered from a fear of being alone since.

The sentence hearing was told that Patrick Curtis suffers from irrational behaviour and blesses himself around sixty times a day to compensate for negative thoughts. He shares a cell in the A block of Portlaoise Prison with his brother Stephen as his anxiety levels are so bad and it has never previously happened that two prisoners have shared the same cell, said Dr McGarry.

Mr Justice Hunt said today that Patrick Curtis' barrister Michael O'Higgins SC had submitted that the court should apply a further reduction on the basis of his client having a condition that would make the serving of a lengthy sentence significantly more difficult. "In this first instance, it is tempting to observe that not plotting to murder other people would have been the best way of avoiding this unfortunate situation," remarked the judge.

The judge said the headline sentence for Curtis was 16 years imprisonment and the weightiest mitigation factor was his guilty plea, which deserved a straight 25 per cent discount.

Mr Justice Hunt indicated that if Curtis genuinely found prison so unattractive, then he should have no difficulty keeping his side of the "social contract involved in his acceptance of a conditionally suspended portion of his sentence".

I love that by the judge, he basically said if Curtis is claustrophobic and doesnt like staying in prison cells then it might be a good idea not to be plotting a murder in the first place :D

Apologies on behalf of my colleagues on the thread, their magic psychic skills failed them when trying to determine the context of your comment attached to the shared article. Foolish of them to believe your comment was about the person the article was about.

At this hour more than likely a car crash, kids in a bought yoke hitting another car.

Anybody know much about Kenny? I had a few nights out/in with him with mutual friends. He wasn't exactly a law-abiding citizen, but he didn't seem like a big deal, or someone to worry about. He definitely didn't come across as dangerous.

I'd be more interested in reading a book by Joey O Brien if he did one.
He knew a lot of interesting and current characters

    I blame d parents

Lads the whistleblower is either garda or the press being fed info from the garda. Nobody would have all this info at once unless they were

    Garda

Journalists being fed info by garda

One of Daniel Kinehans top men.

The fake pretending not to be able to spell rules out the gangsters.

They obviously cant say its them and dont want it to look like its them. They just want to mess up the organisation, spread mistrust and gain political will to fund the resources needed to do their job.

Why is nobody ever asking about the IRA involvement.
How deep in the IRA is one side? Is the other side cutting them out of their drug dealer licence and protection scheme?

Has the author confused "saorsean" with "seercryer". Saorsean didn't come across as Kinahan propaganda, seercryer was 100% paid

No way Hosay, they aren't a guard or hack.
While I think afew run the page at times, there's a clear hatred of cancer from a user of that account, it runs deep, that account only gives a f about MTK and anything cancer, they're getting info left right and centre.
