Like most high court bail applications, the judge listens to the evidence during the application and makes a decision.

If he gets released at the half way point of his sentence he will be on licence for the second half. The below are the standard licence conditions that everybody must meet. failure to meet them means return to prison. there can be additional licence conditions depending on the offender

These guy's have their money made, nothing to stop their families spending to maintain their lifestyle.

Funnily enough Curtis Warrens family are very humble and don’t flash any of his cash whatsoever, his mother still lives in the same house in Toxteth where he grew up

the only people who face those restrictions for life are those released from a life sentence. Don't believe everything you read in the sunday world.

Exactly, only people who’ve got sentenced to IPP (doesn’t happen anymore but still people on life licences from them sentences) or a strange rec (life sentence) have licence conditions for life. If Bomber gets 20 year he’ll do 10 and the only way he can do more is if they give him extended licence (only happens in violent cases) which means he’d do 2 thirds of his sentence before he could apply for parole (15 year if he got 20) but it doesn’t look like it’s going down that avenue

You're correct, I should have mentioned those on an IPP as well. I didn't realise there were still so many of those in the UK.

Just copped it that Crawford and McClean are charged with the attempted murder of Wayne Whelan AND the murder of Thomas McCarthy.
    Busy men.

So, if whelan was suspected of wiping out the guinea pig and David Chen but turns out it was this guy doing a Paddy Doyle-esque barrage of hits, it feels like a group trying to wipe out all the local competition.

What ever happened to Gilligan's fortune? How did he go from an equestrian centre, multiple houses and Spanish investment properties to (allegedly) posting piddling amounts of hash and tablets back from Spain? People took the piss out of it but he genuinely appeared broke when he was asking Fingal CC to house him.

    C. A. B. Ironically it was brought about as a result of Gilligans activities. A lot of big names in gangland left Ireland as a result.

Factory John’s murder of Veronica Guerin is the main reason the Criminal Assets Bureau came about. It’s a huge reason why John is despised in underworld circles. He had quite a bit invested in the Judges Chambers in Spain (the pub) he lost a few quid there. There’s also a few whispers that he had a quite a few quid buried that was lost when construction of a section of the M50 was completed. Not quite sure how true that is. As everyone knows he also lost a significant chunk when the state took Jessbrook Farm.

I remember hearing about the m50 money. I thought it was to do with Martin Cahill.

I probably should have clarified. Although the CAB took his obvious assets where did his cash go to? It wouldn't have all been in Irish bank accounts, but he seems to be skint since he got released.

The M50 plans would have been public knowledge at the time Gilligan was at his busiest, he would have been some gobshyte to bury it there :pac:

He was banged up for 16 years mate. His missus was hardly getting by on the labour. 30k a year for 16 years is roughly half a million. Just one example. He has a few kids too.

They reckon he was making millions a month in his heyday he should have been smart enough to keep something back. Saying that the m50 story is the stuff of nightmares that just keep him up most nights if he’s broke
