Ever since the red tops came to Ireland the standard of journalism dropped

    I agree.

All the daft nicknames that most were given by said journos to make a story look a bit edgier.

Thinking of gangland nicknames how many can we think of?

    The penguin
    The wig
    Mr Big
    Mr Flashy
    Fat Freddie
    Cancer
    Bop
    Dots
    The Viper
    The General
    The Monk

    For starters

UDA shoot up house with shotguns and hit a grandmother in the head, she survived bt is in a bad way. Her son, the intended target got wounded. Accused of selling dodgy drugs that killed a girl who probably had loyalist relatives https://www.irishnews.com/news/northernirelandnews/2020/10/07/news/uda-gun-attack-leaves-coleraine-woman-fighting-for-her-life-2090809/

3 women stabbed and another 2 fellas battered last night in S Belfast too.

    Taliban brothers
    The walrus
    The milkman
    The Colonel
    Dapper don
    The family

You do know that cancer was coined by the whistleblower, who said it came from people in and around Dublin.

Dots was by his own people.

The rest of the nicknames is because Ireland has some of the harshes defamation laws in the world, it's a way of naming them without naming them.

    why where's he from?

Is this a rhetorical question? I've seen RL given a few addresses by the papers don't actually know for certain where he was originally from. I already know I was wrong to class it as "Coolock feud " which has been pointed out, as there is just so many different factions up there it would seem. Someone mentioned that they thought there would be reprisals fro E Boylans death , is there a reason behind this, was he heavily involved with somebody else? Either way it's all very sad , especially when a lot of these come from decent families and live a life this way. Isn't RL from a famous football family?

A 7 years sentence with 3 suspended for being in possession of 1.2 million euro worth of cocaine.

This country’s judicial system is an absolute disgrace..

No wonder these cartels can operate and flourish, when this is the type deterrent out there.

Give your poor sob story and you’ll get off with a slap on the wrist..

In this country if you owed the bank a thousand pound, the bank would take you to court.

If you owed the bank 5million they would take you to dinner.

    Different laws for different people.

A bank loan can take 30 years too pay off.
If you rob a bank your released after 10 years.
    Now where is the justice

Wasn’t there a lad referred to by Williams as “Herman the Vermin” from Corduff?
