Wouldnt be so sure they are Republicans. Some of the papers said around the time the trial was on an armed robber from Dublin was using his associates to intimidate witnesses on Bradys behalf. A Twitter page named the armed robber as Dean Byrne who done the horrendous robbery on the Tipperary family few years back. Brady must have had money behind him to pay these lads to get associates working for them after witnesses. Could be linked to this.

Mary Lou and associates springs to mind

Ah ok, they are all just criminals who kill. Wherever they are from I suppose. Not a great trait in any person is it.

Thankfully the vast majority of people are not like that.

Brilliant but still not enough punishment, these pussies end up with power behind bars.....

Should be put to endless demeaning work too.

Now that's a good length of time to be punished. It's just a shame it rarely if ever happens when this penalty for murder should be the norm and not the exception.

Sadly I predict he'll be out in 10 years. In a few years criminal rights lobby groups like the Irish Council for Civil Liberties will use him as a poster child for a "Young man failed by the state and left to rot in jail, life sentences are immoral, blah blah blah" argument. Plus the Shinners won't let a good Republican like him sit in prison for long once they come to power.

Not going to happen, the law is quite clear in this case, under Criminal Justice Act 1990, aminimum of 40 years

No chance he'll get out early. Absolutely zero.

Sinn Fein would have no hesitation in springing him if they get in. Long history of negotiating free passes for killers

    Not for Capital Murder.

Great to see it, I hope it's 40+ years of torture.

It's a shame some good citizens can't remove those other gobshites from the front of the court with their ridiculous chants and placards. They would say black is white the bunch of consta-contrary wasters.

There would be uproar in the Garda if this happened.

    Not a bloody chance

Ask Gerry McCabe's widow if "uproar" did her any good? Sinn Fein fought like dogs to try to get them out as part of the GFA. Ultimately failed but thanks to Sinn Fein /IRA witness intimidation they were only done for manslaughter in the first place s got soft sentences in a soft prison

He'll be 67 at the earliest when he's out. That's his life effectively over. It'll take another couple of years for him to assimilate. He'll have no savings, and no job prospects, so can expect to spend the rest of his life on the poverty line.

Good to see that. Let it be a lesson.

He'll have 40 years worth of savings. You get paid for work you do inside. Not entirely sure what amount and what its for, but you do get something.

The level of knuckle draggers outside the CCJ earlier. Christ. Water cannons would be far too good for them though maybe the shower would be productive.

There could very well be a little retirement fund from equally despicable people put away for a real 'patriot'. Perhaps do the rounds as an after dinner speaker in some smoke filled, dens of eniquity full of people who would bow at the altar of a cop killer. Maybe a book on his 40 year struggle which would fall off the shelves in certain areas. This sewer dweller may still have an ability to earn a few bob when/if ever he gets out as there are plenty of human rodents who would admire his actions.

The 4 thugs who killed Garda McCabe hardly served 10 years and are heroes in the Sinn Feil Party. Sinn Fein can't let this lad rot in jail. What would they say to the rest of their Fuel Launderers in their fundraising department. The old "Don't worry we'll look after you" line rings hollow if they don't look after him. Sure it looks like he did a solo run on the credit union job but......

Might come to more than the 7k he stole- the loser hope he’s first of many to be jailed for it
