Nah, not really, dude. The vast majority of people in this country respect the good work of the Gardaí, while recognising that there was issues with the insular nature of the organisation. That's why Drew Harris was brought in, and the a fine job he has done so far. Very popular figure with a number of former guards I play golf with.

Brady was a hideous looking psychopath who shot a guard, and will now spend the next 40 years thinking about what he has done. Good enough for him.

Brady was named online in a garda related website as the prime suspect for the shooting of the cop well before he was charged. When he was brought back into the country over the driving charges he was named ,then, in the garda publication as the main suspect.

Truth of the matter is, is that there is serious garda corruption in this country, GSOC are not fit for purpose. There is zero accountability with regard to corruption, incompetence, intimidation and harassment.

Irish people are completely ambivalent and unaware of what is going on with their supposed police force as the majority of them dont come into contact with these so called public servants on a regular basis.

FACTS

Last two garda commissioners have resigned in disgrace. One knowingly falsely accusing a whistleblower of child molestation and the other one not long after, lost all her documents and computers as soon as she left the office. (The infamous Noirin O'Sullivan if I remember correctly) If this is what the police force is like at the top in our country, you can only imagine what it is like as it filters further down.

Any whistleblowers in relation to the so called force have been implicated in the most heinous of crimes (McCabe and others in child molestation)

Neptoism is rife with the sector, cover ups are rife within the sector, corruption is rife within the sector, amongst many other things.

Why??? Because there is no accountability and the vast majority of the so called gards in this country achieve a position of influence through all the wrong reasons, neptoism, licking arse, gaa and who you know.

It is time the people of this country deserved a better police force

You live in Dublin but you're from the country, I live in the countryside in limerick, near the tipp border, it's pretty much one maybe two gardai for multiple villages and towns.
