Saorview Programme Info fails to include Year of films

I have noticed going into Programme Info (with Saorview) while a film is being broadcast on RTE- it fails to show the year the film dates from.

This appears to be consistently the case as I have tried it several times.

I presume this is just some sort of oversight rather than some other reason??

It might be important for a viewer to easily see when a film dates from to put things in context.

In comparison this information is always included on films on BBC for example.

See attached pictures to see what I mean.

UPC/Virgin Media used to include the year in the program description for movies but have not done so for several years now.

Agree, it's annoying that RTE don't do it. Lack of interest on their side I guess, sure who cares about the viewer.

Hopefully they'll also stop doing the very abrupt "THE END" replacement for movie credits as well.

    A bit of S1 Ep4 wouldn't go astray either.

On some EPG's they always start the synopsis of a film by saying (for example, in the case of Back To the Future) -

"Fantasy adventure starring Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd, 1985". That single line gives you the basic info about the type of film, the stars and the year of release. Then they can give as much or as little info about the plot afterwards. That would be a more preferable way to have all films listed in the TV Guide.

I see a lot of descriptions of a TV show being general summaries of the show in general and not about the specific episode and they don't give a series or episode number. Also, RTÉ are very keen to include director info and lots of the cast in the synopsis and also to put more information about the plot than TV's can display. It's been happening for years and years, how it has gone unnoticed and revised is a complete mystery.

For the movie "No Escape" which is on RTÉ One this Friday night, the year (2015) is mentioned on both Sky and Virgin Media EPGs, so RTÉ provide them the year info but for some reason don't mention it on its own platform Saorview

Also can't understand as mentioned above, no Series/Episode info on Saorview's EPG

Interestingly the year is included on the synopsis on the Saorview app. The series and episode number for tv shows is there too so why isn't this information appearing on televisions?
