Initially to give them a miss. Concentrate more on sub-10m options. Hoping I can hang on to my WC til around gw9 or so. I certainly don't see myself going the whole season without some of the names you mentioned. That's a ridiculously expensive bench. Downgrade all of them, and get yourself something expensive (Salah/Mane/TAA/Aubumyang/Werner/Kane)

Have 1 mill ITB with that draft to upgrade Alli to Son if I don’t use in defence. Happy enough with the spread of players. Only issue is the 4.5 forward angle, would prefer to get a starter in there. Could do Ings & 4.5 —-> Adams & DCL but is Adams nailed?? Could just be upgrading a 4.5 mill sub to a 6 mill sub? Thoughts

Here's what I have at the moment.

     - set & forget

Van Dijk & Trent AA (Liv) 
     - set & forget

Lamptey (Brighton 4.5M), Charlie Taylor (Burnley 4.5M), Douglas (Leeds 4.0M)
     - hopefully all should play, all cheap, fixtures rotate reasonably well.

Mid
Salah (Liv 12M), Son (Tot 9M), Havertz (Che 8.5M), Saint-Max (New 5.5M), Romeu (Sot 4.5M)

For
Vardy (Lei 10M), Werner (Che 9.5M), Davis (Villa 4.5M)

1M in the bank.

Antsy about leaving Aubamayang out of GW1 and also looks tricky to bring in a City midfielder early on. I guess my only route to that is to dump Vardy for a much cheaper option, as I'm kind of settled on Werner.

Hi folks, longtime lurker, really appreciate yer ongoing discussion/thoughts. Only a couple of days to go so thought I would post my almost “final” draft for any analysis ye could provide.

McCarthy/Nyland
Trent/Vinagre/O’Shea/Struijk/Dier
Armstrong/Auba/Mané/Pereira/Alli
Mitrovic/Werner/Brewster


*Leaves me with 2.5 in the bank and plan to do Mané to KDB and Pereira to Greenwood for a -4 for GW2, which will in turn leave me with 1.5 in the bank as a bit of rainy day fund

*Will switch Nyland to a lower ownership 4.0 keeper if Martinez arrives before the deadline, happy to stick with McCarthy for the foreseeable so sub keeper is just a placeholder

*Just going to hope Brewster gets a loan and leave him in there, will only have Trent in there GW2 onwards so not concerned about having too many pool players, can also upgrade him to a 6/6.5 forward with the money in the bank if I want to play 3-4-3 after a couple of weeks

*No interest leaving Manchester players on the bench when the -4 will be absorbed by the 2 points per player actually playing with the potential for more also

Weak bench, hopefully I'll have at least two playing subs tho. Punt-ish midfield with Perez and ASM to allow a stronger forward line. Will consider transferring one some or all of auba/son/richarlison for martial fernandes and kdb as we get into it.

Really really like that defense - be very tempting to go 5 at the back some weeks. If Shaw plays he should be great value.

I too have Davies, but Rose back has me a small bit worried - hopefully Bavies will get the league with Rose for the cups - as their schedule is shocking

Wouldn’t be overly fond of double Spurs midfield but lovely differential potentially for the price..Don’t think Pulisic will start the first couple of GWs so maybe Ziyech instead and ASM to Armstrong or JWP as you have no Southampton attacking cover?

Ali/Son go to Greenwood depending on the Form.

I was looking at Adams but his career stats are very uninspiring. If I go Salah, then Armstrong over ASM is a definite consideration.

The "what Liverpool" question really defines the rest of the team

I don’t think I would have anymore than Trent in my team for the first few GWs if the Manchester clubs were actually playing so that’s the way I’m looking at it for now. Was also thinking Mané/Salah to Rashford/Greenwood saves a small fortune and allows you to upgrade in different areas i.e 4.5 def to Robertson/ 6.0 forward to Ings/Jimenez
