Version 2.0 - either no Salah or no Auba

    Johnstone, Button
    TAA, Robertson, Egan KWP, Taylor
Salah OR Auba, Son, Ward-Prowse, Pereira, Soucek
    Werner, Wilson, Martial.

    OR..no Werner

    Johnstone, Button
    TAA, Egan, KWP, Taylor, 4.0
Salah AND Auba, Ward-Prowse, ASM, Soucek
    Kane, Mitrovic, Martial

    Any opinions?

Personal preference I prefer the 2nd team.
FWIW I would have Werner in for Martial, for GW1 at least. And if you need 0.5 for it I'd downgrade Egan or Soucek to a 4.5

    tenor.gif

It was mentioned, Strujk... apparently he won’t play there though. Might be worth slotting him though as the 4mil options are drying up & he is lowly owned so should keep price value

To be honest it’s a coin flip at this stage, we are going round circles :)

Do you want Kane or Werner?

Do you want Werner or Martial?

You could bench fodder Mitrovic or ASM & make Martial Werner! (For team 2)

    ———-

Again team 1 Egan could become fodder, Son to ASM and Wilson to Kane!

If you are willing to go with a bench fodder you could make the best of both :)

    Okay... nearly my last draft.

    Ramsdale (Martin)
    Justin, Basham, TAA, KWP (Shaw)
    Ward-Prowse, Jorginio, Pulisic ,Salah (Greenwood)
    Kane, Adams (Davies)

Jorginio may not start but hes cheap and most likely a bench player later.
4.5 mil in the bank to possible bring in Martial or KDB next week.

    Thoughts?

I think you are leaving too much money in the bank. It's an idea to have some there to help with upgrading a player but another way of looking at it is that for each week that money is in the bank it is dead money in regard to earning you points.

For example you could replace Adams with Vardy and still have 0.5mill in the bank to cover against price rises. If you sell Vardy to bring in Martial for week 2 then you could have 1.5mill to go towards your next player upgrade.

    First draft.

    Martinez (Peacock-Farrell)
TAA, Taylor, KWP, Justin, Johnson (whu)
    Auba, Salah, Ward-P, ASM, Reed
    Mitro, Kane, Werner.

    0.5 in the bank.

Schmeichel I think is overpriced at 5.5, and wouldn't touch leic def,
Also Alonso for 6m? Could get Doherty instead, even Davies/ James...
I'd downgrade keeper to Ryan/ McCathy and either upgrade Alonso to Robertson or Rashford to Fernandez,
No Taylor Rashford Souck GW1 relying on Micthell and other starting I'd at minimum put Son in for Rashford- or you could be left with 10 players

Think I have my final(ish) draft, this leaves me nothing ITB

    Pope (Martin)
    TAA Robertson Egan (Taylor, Bernardo)
Stephens Salah Lundstrom Ward-Prowse (Bruno Fernandez)
    Werner Mitrovic Jiminez

Plan is likely to transfer Ings for Martial in GW2 and maybe Salah for KdB in GW3. Also going to keep an eye on Mahrez to see if he can nail down a starting slot, if he can I think he offers good value at 8.5

Hope the Werner thing isnt just a bandwagon that doesnt work out. Have been wondering if Pulisic might be a better punt, he is 1m less than Werner and is already PL proven and coming off the back of good form since the restart. Werner was lethal in the Bundesliga but sometimes it take a month or two to settle in the PL

    Any comments welcome.

yea i have him as well - i can only assume people are seeing high % ownership of other players, coupled with Leicester having a few injuries and hence Vardy not picked. Hoping he proves that wrong :)

Tinkering with a big at the back team...

    Ryan
    TAA Robertson Doherty Saliba
    Auba Havertz Alli
    Ings Adams Werner

    Ings to Martial GW2

    4m gk Vinagre 4.5 mid 4.5 mid

Not too sure about this...2 cheap 4.5 mids is quite inflexible. I do prefer Doherty to any of the 5.5 mid options though. If I could make a final decision on my formation that would be helpful.

Possibly put in bissouma over Stephens but it's marginal,
If no money ITB you can't do Ings to martial, you would need to do Salah to kdb at same time as need that .5 so -4 needed, but don't think that's an issue
I think at 5.5 mid the lord has left the manor, much rather ASM or Saka, actually like rest of balance of team and exit plan

I like it. Ings and Adams covers you for Southampton goals (so long as they're scoring that is)

Ok so think i am done now nothing ITB

    Ryan Button
    TAA Robbo KWP Justin O'Shea
    Salah Auba Alli ASM Stephens
    Werner Watkins Mitrovic

    3-4-3 each week

Can downgrade Werner to do Alli to KDB when ready

Yeah would probably get Martial for Ings gw2, will see how things go. I feel more comfortable going without Mané/Salah if I have both Trent and Robbo. Are you close to your final team yourself?

    McCarthy
    TAA Robertson Doherty Tierney 4.0
    Auba Son Soucek 4.5 4.5

Auba probably just for 2 gws - then downgrade to someone like Havertz and upgrade Soucek or 4.5 to another option in the 7.5 to 8.5 range.

    Johnstone (Button)
TAA, Robbo, Doherty, KWP, (C Taylor)
    Aubameyang, Alli, Hamez, Soucek (Bissouma)
    Werner, Wilson (Martial)

Zero in bank with this which isn't ideal.

Wanted Vardy for the GW1 punt but not worth booking the transfer in the end I felt.

Rodriguez a punt instead. Ancelotti talking him up, seems like he'll be a focal point of that attack.

I would lose Bernardo, Lundstram and Stephens.

Not sure if you’re looking for ideas on who to replace them with but at those price points I’d go Mitchell, Bissouma and not sure about Lundstram as not sure if you have any money itb.

Mitchell is a FT waiting to happen but you may get 2 GW’s out of him and then move to Ferguson. Or if you don’t need him to play initially then go with Ferguson from the off.

If going with Pope I’d have a 4.0m keeper on the bench although then you won’t have a keeper for the opening fixture. You could get Ramsdale or Leno as set and forgets, for less, or Jose’s Lloris for the same price. You shouldn’t need a second keeper that will play.

Ramsdale would allow you Sheffield United defence, if that’s what you’re looking for with Egan, and then upgrade Egan. I don’t think he’s great value at that price. I like wolves defensively this season.

Personally I’d choose between Ryan and McCarthy (with a 4.0m keeper on the bench) and use the funds elsewhere.

Lundstram could become Soucek and he could be your first or second sub. Your team looks like it wants to be 4-3-3 so I’d look at upgrading Bernardo to a regular starter and Taylor first or second sub.

Edit - a 4-3-3 like that would have a bench of

    4.0m keeper, Soucek, Taylor, Bissouma

Love that backline, would love to squeeze Tierney in. It's well balanced without Salah/Mané ...hopefully we won't be punished too badly!

    McCarthy

    TAA James Justin Egan

    Salah PEA Soucek

    Werner Ings Mitrovic

    Nyland, Mitchell, Ritchie, Greenwood

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,022 ✭✭✭jamesbere

After much chopping and changing I'm looking at this option

    Johnstone
    TAA Egan KWP
    Stmax Auba Son Havertz
    Ings Vardy Mitrovic

    Button Vinagre Bissouma Mitchell

    2m itb

Liking the side but its so tough to get a settled side with 4 teams missing the first week.

Looking at fernandes in son out but that will change if I have a bad week or son plays a blinder

Triple pool defence..This is looking like the final draft!

    Ryan (Walton)

TAA, Robbo, Van Dyke, Walker Peters, (C. Taylor)

Auba, pulisic, (Greenwood), Saint Max, Soucek

    Werner, Adams, (Vassilev)

3.0 in the bank to upgrade Adams to Martial

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,103 ✭✭✭markc91

Cant decide on a final draft so this might well be it! Any opinions greatly appreciated!

    McCarthy(Button)
    TAA Doherty Tierney (AWB,Bernardo)
    Auba(C) Son Traore Saint-Max (Bissouma)
    Wilson Ings Werner

Latest change was Werner in for Kane so 1.0m ITB

  • Registered Users Posts: 852 ✭✭✭mectavba

My hopefully final draft. Had a week offline so managed to avoid the usual daily (hourly) tinkering that usually happens in the last week!

    McCarthy/Ryan

TAA Doherty Basham Taylor (BUR) Johnson (WH)

    Auba Salah Traore Perreira Bissouma

    Kane Mitro Wilson

Is it too much of a risk to go without Werner? He is so heavily owned that I have been tempted to go for him over Kane against my gut. However, even if my gut is wrong, Kane > Werner can be done easy enough first few weeks.

Also, am I the only one that is letting the COVID situation dictate their squad. I've avoided triple ups, gone for 2 playing keepers and as close to a 15 with guaranteed minutes as I could - Johnson/Bissouma not so sure, but the most likely in those price ranges.

I think with the risk of games being called off, as well as the fact that the quick turnaround could lead to lots of rotation means the importance of a decent squad is far higher than before. In fact, as I am typing, I think I will sell Doherty to upgrade a few on the bench..........

think I am Done ( famous last words)

    Mccarthy

    Dotherty Egan TAA Coleman

    Son Zaha Auba (C)

    Vardy Wilson Werner

    Nyland Soucek Bissouma Ayling

Coleman - Risk but surely needs a big start to season wants to get back into the Ireland team.

Zaha - Big pre season 27 this year needs a big season to get a chance of moving only owned by 7% and 7 million

Bench - Expect all to play

Hi guys, after a four or five years out, I've decided to give this a go again! Would love some critique as I'm rusty as hell and believe full backs are all the rage now...

    GK: Ryan (Walton)
DF: Ward, TAA, Davies, Walker-Peters (Targett)
MF: Mane, Havertz, Willian (Bissouma, Romeu)
    FW: Kane, Vardy, C Wilson

Would love any top tips or must have cheap players as literally only reading up for first time today so am well behind...

*Have edited as have already swapped things A LOT*.
