Reading thru the pages and seems to be a real lack of Harry Kane in teams.

Has a nice run of fixtures and is always a goal scorer so is it just that people are going with the premium midfields over the top strike force??

Last season, anytime I watched Spurs he had a tendency to move back into the midfield more than I’d like. I’d need to see him start well before bringing him in at his price. Obviously he has started slowly in previous seasons which also makes me wary for now.

Double Arsenal defense and neither of them guaranteed to start!? Long also questionable for starting.

Mee is injured for Burnley, so should start until his back.

Yeah I'm a little concerned with the gunners, they have a rake of defenders and picking the ones that will start is difficult

Yeah, strange one. He's a nice placeholder for Ageuro too if it doesn't work out

    ATM, I've

    McCarthy, (Ryan)

    TAA, Lascelles, Justin, (Vinagre),(Taylor)

Saka, Salah (V), Auba (C), Son, Saint Maximin

    Werner, Adams, (Mitrovic)

Pretty settled on a good bit of it, but options I can see are any bunch of 4.5m defenders or take a chance on a 4m guy like Johnson or Mitchell, switching Saka to Soucek and Adams to Nketiah or Wilson then

Saka won’t start for Arsenal. Leicester are a mess at the back. It’s hard to go anywhere from having Adams and Mitro in attack

    My team, any comments

    McCarthy, (Ryan)
van Dijk, Doherty, Saiss, (Webster), (Cooper)
    Aubameyang(c), Salah(v), Son, Saint-Maximin, (Sawyers)
    Jimenez, Nketiah, Antonio

Have only really seen Soucek at that price point and you've piqued my interest :)

    McCarthy Ramsdale
    TAA Holding Lascelles Bavies Branthwaithe
    Salah PEA Son Minamino Saka
    Werner Mitrovic Davies

Davies will become Brewster in time.

Plenty of options from Adams and mitro tbf. Brewster if he moves, Nketiah if he holds his spot, Wilson, Wood, Antonio, Haller, Watkins, Batshauyi, extra money by switching Son to Havertz or Pulisic, or by downgrading Auba/Salah to Bruno/KDB.

Why do you think Saka won't start though?

Also Leicester are playing West Brom and then Burnley so two easy fixtures to start

    McCarthy, Martin

    TAA, Digne, Egan, Taylor, Johnson

    Auba, Salah, Alli, Pereira, Bissouma,

    Werner, Wilson, Mitrovic

    HELP ME PLEASE!

    (Martin and Johnson are fodder)

Sawyers is West Brom, I was worried about Soucek having to self isolate

    Pretty happy with my team

Then I realise I've no KDB, no Fernandes, no Salah/Mane, no Kane, no Aguero and no Sterling

.... And no way in hell I can get them into my team with serious hits or a wildcard.

I don’t think Digne is worth the money. Would prefer to downgrade and change Alli to Son.

Read somewhere Soucek is good to go

Pretty settled on this I think. Have 1.5m in the bank.

    McCarthy (Steer)
    TAA James Doherty Vinagre (Mitchell)
    Son Pulisic Auba (Soucek Reed)
    Adams Werner Ings

I’m happy with the back line as James, Vinagre kind of punts but have Soucek and Mitchell and Reed who should all play. In Soucek I feel I have one strong bench player every week. Will downgrade once the dust settle and line ups become more certain.

I know pulisic is a risk but I’ll definitely want him for week 2.

With money on bank I feel I have some room to upgrade if needs be.

    GK: Johnstone, Button

DEF: Alexander Arnold, Walker Peters, Vinagre, Johnson (WHU), Mitchell (CP)

MID: Aubameyang, Salah, Soucek, Bissouma, Bruno Fernandes

    ATT: Werner, Richarlison, Callum Robinson

I have the must haves - TAA, Salah, Aubameyang and Werner. Have Bruno Fernandes on the bench for GW2 ready to come in. Might end up banking my GW2 transfer and doing a double or triple transfer GW3.

I like to have a few punts too, so the three main ones are:

Callum Robinson - should go in up front and is quite lively - I think he has a decent chance of scoring this weekend actually. At that price point Bamford also worth considering for sure, who I also think will do well.

Richarlison - Think he could go close to being top goalscorer this year, massively rate his chances of getting 18-20 goals this season.

Johnstone - Rather not double up on Southampton defense and Matt Ryan doesn't interest me. Should be peppered with shots so hopefully pick up some save points.

Solid team, nicely balanced. I was gonna agree with previous poster about Digne but he was very nice opening fixtures. I say stick with him. Nice having a differential in there, along with Pereira. You also have room for Egan+Alli to 4.5 + Pulisic.

Too much money on the bench. Long won't start. Long to 4m. Harrison/ASM to 4.5m. You can now do Bellerin to VVD, or Doherty. And Saliba to Taylor/Davies/Egan.

Yeah why not. He’s a top level player. No reason he won’t score against.them.

Decent point though. Maybe could hold off a week or two.

    I’m now on!!

    McCarthy (Button)

    Trent Holding Johnson (Coleman ,Taylor)

Salah (c) Aubameyang Keita Soucek (Burke)

    Kane Werner Adams

Not sure where all the money is coming from but I have 1mil ITB.

Keita is a gamble and can become Foden. I’m not sure on the 5.5mil - 6.5mil options.

Perreira has tough opening fixtures, don’t fancy the double up on Soton attackers (JWP), Perez is dodgy to start, Mitrovic I’m unconvinced, Wilson has had not much time with Newcastle and Antonio great opening fixture but horrible after that, transfer waiting to happen.

Any guidance on the 4th mid & 3rd striker?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,399 ✭✭✭✭ThunbergsAreGo

The more i look at this the more I am preferring

Son Havertz Greenwood to Salah Soucek Ali

Leaves me with only 1 premium mid but an extra place to jump onto a points train (instead of Soucek), and lets me play the magic 5 in midfield

Nice team. Keita wouldn't be for me, although the options at the price range aren't great. ASM more likely to rack up a decent score imo.

My own team attached. Opinions/advice welcome.

    Ryan (Walton)
    TAA Doherty KWP (Vinagre) (Ayling)
    Salah PEA Fraser Soucek (Gordon)
    Werner Jiminez Antonio

Considering the wildcard in week 2

  • Registered Users Posts: 253 ✭✭Trey13

Got involved on the forum last season, hoping to be active here this season.

    Ramsdale (Nyland)
    TAA Justin Egan (Lewis, Mitchell)
    PEA Salah ASM Soucek (Stephens)
    Kane Werner Wilson

Thoughts on this? Have 1.5 in the bank for Son to Fernandes for week 2... defense is weak but hard to have everything decent.

Changed Saka to Soucek and Vinagre to Egan and going 4-4-2 now.

Feel like both Saka and Vinagre are a bit of a risk to start with.

Right I think I finally have my team sorted.

    Mc Carthy ( Ryan )

    Trent, Justin, Egan, Doherty, (Mitchell)

    Aubu, ASM, Salah (Pereira, Bissouma)

    Werner, Ings, Mitrovic

Nothing in the bank and ultimately I would like to bring in KDB Bruno and Martial.

    Any comments?

I’d be looking at Davies over Doherty & perhaps Justin to Coleman while starting Perreira this week.

Why have Perreira in your team at all if you are not playing him against Leicester who have no defenders & will be playing a midfielder centre half??

    Plus they are at home!
