Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Using an Old Sky Plus box to get Free to air

    Sorry about my terminology.
I have two sky satellites on my roof and an old sky + box with no card. Just moved in to the house.

When I connect it it tells me there's no satellite signal at all. I'm a bit baffled as to why.

Any idea how to solve? Box is an Amstrad DRX890.

Either the box isn't working or the cables are cut, however the sky setup did work for the previous tenant unless they cut the cables in the meantime.

    Any suggestions?

Most probably the dish has moved out of alignment or the Lnb is knackered.
The box will also probably need to be set up for single feed mode unless you have two feeds going into it.

Both dishes seem not to be working, and I've put it to single feed mode and still no luck.

It was working up until the old tenant left a month ago though.

    Thanks for the suggestions

    1. If the old tenant had Sky Q then your older box wont work with the dish without changing the LNB on the dish itself.
    2. Are you sure they had Sky? Some people have dishes pointed at other satellites for non-UK channels. Again these will not work with an old Sky box

Pretty sure it wasn't sky q. They had the same or similar looking sky box to the one I have. The lnb is branded as sky on the satellite and looks fairly new. Doesn't mean anything though.

    Thanks again for the help
