House wired with PoE - Best Wifi Solution

I am working in a house with data points in every room wired back to a gigabit PoE switch. Is my best option to get unifi uap ac everywhere I want wifi or get some sort of a wifi mesh system?

I wouldn't overthink it tbh. Unless you have very specific needs, then a single AP in a central location should be more than enough to cover the entire house.

With data points in every room, you can hook up high-bandwidth devices such as TVs, console or a home office directly to the ethernet, so the wifi is really only needed for phones and tablets.

I am a fan of Unifi APs, have them in my house running over POE. They are discreet as well plus you can turn off the LEDS. You can either buy a hardware solution or run the UniFi controller software on a local server to manage them.

OP I have data points in each room but the walls needed to be chased as they are concrete, I have also a unifi ap pro in the sitting room ceiling and I have a second cat6 coming out of the ceiling to the top of the landing I am going to add a second ap soon.

But you need to run all your data points to a patch panel and then into a switch, I have a 6u cabinet in the back room for all this.

This kind of thing but you still need to power it.



But I did find this solution which is a POE wall plate that you can take out your wall plate and install this and you would have wifi an ethernet port and a usb.

Good God no! That's a repeater, which is exactly what you do not want if you have Ethernet.

I am going to go with access points that connect via Ethernet. It's really just advice on which ones to buy I am looking for. Google WiFi? Unifi APs? Or is Google WiFi more for people that do not have wired data points back to the main router?

Decent price for a pack of 3 (you'll probably find them cheaper), allow you manage them all as a single network (i.e. you don't have to configure WiFi on them individually), and run on PoE so you only need a single cable to them. They also have auto-negotiate features so if the APs overlap they will automatically change channels to avoid interference.

Thing is that, if you have only one port per room and you use it for AP, you dedicate yourself to WiFi only - no wired devices.
Unify comes with power injectors(correct me if wrong). This would allow you to have switches in the rooms if required for other wire connected devices+AP

Big unifi fan and have been using for years at home and professionally however if I was replacing my home Wifi now I'd use the Google mest system. I know on paper some others could be considered technically better but its setup and management is just so simple and it pretty much takes care of itself.
