Have a house that has been empty for about ten years. Electric pole is about 25 metres away. Any idea what the reconnection charge would be. Any similiar stories?

    Hi TheLastMohican,

It is necessary to put this query to ESB Networks, on 1850 372 757, with the MPRN if you have it (or the serial number on the meter that has the letters "RM" before it).

    Then choose the provider.

If you have queries about Electric Ireland, do let us know.

    Kind regards,
    Una

Hi Una, thanks for answering. Am vacationing from the US and am quarantining (Aug 12 - 26) up the Kerry hills so cannot check meter etc. at the mo.
Just trying to get my stuff together before my eventual return to Ireland at Christmas. Is Electric Ireland the same as ESB?

    Hi TheLastMohican,

ESB Networks and Electric Ireland are both part of the ESB Group, but perform different functions. ESB Networks looks after the infrastructure and connections to the grid, installation of meters, power faults, etc (no matter which billing company the customer is registered with). Electric Ireland looks after billing.

(It used to be two different departments within one company, then it became ESB Networks and ESB Customer Supply. In 2011, ESB Customer Supply became Electric Ireland).

    Kind regards,
    Una

    Hi TheLastMohican,

We are happy to advise. If you are interested in choosing Electric Ireland as the billing company when connected, offers are detailed as follows on the Electric Ireland website.

    Kind regards,
    Una
