Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Well lads it's game day!, I'm surprisingly excited about this. Every Ireland player on tour in a match day 15, let's Hope the ones in hotly rested positions have a Stormer and give gatland a few headaches and sleepless nights come test selection time.

He is, or recovering - he might not have been doing this game anyway but he won’t be calling the games for Sky this time round (first time since 1997).

Was G Van den Heever actually supposed to play this game ?

He had colon cancer surgery earlier this week. He is going to be out from rugby commentary for a while as he is in recovery.

    We wish him well.

Japan will be rusty but hopefully they can turn it on at some points in the game.

    Who is commentating for sky?

Also what rights to c4 and virgin have for the rest of the series?

Conor McNamara is doing commentary on Channel 4 with Jamie Heaslip & Noelli Waterman.

Hasn’t been announced yet. They are basically having to put the band back together having not had any live northern hemisphere rugby for a long time. Alex Payne and Will Greenwood are involved, but on the studio side.

C4 and VMTV will have highlights rights to the rest of the series.

Sky aren't showing today's game and AFAIK today is all that anyone except Sky has.

    It'll likely be Mark Patterson.

Heaslip, as always doing most of the talking.

Big Duhan got very lucky with his last gasp tackle earlier.

    What a dose for Jones

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,375 ✭✭✭✭Larbre34

AWJ is in big bother and it looks like he could be one and done.

    That's awful.

Who's next on the call up list.... James Ryan?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

    Cheerio AWJ.
Dislocated thumb or elbow by the looks of it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,544 ✭✭✭dublinman1990

It's not an easy game to watch so far. It's very physical.

It appears AWJ has broken his left wrist. Courtney Lawes is now in.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,229 ✭✭✭A-Train

That does not look good for AWJ there at all, his series could be over.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,723 ✭✭✭✭Squidgy Black

Ah shíte that's so disappointing for AWJ.

Who becomes test captain now I wonder?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,384 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Tour over for AWJ. Before they even left for SA.

    I reckon Farrell

Conan and Henshaw are putting their hands up. Both been excellent defensively. Need to give them the ball in attack now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,576 ✭✭✭bennyl10

    That’s terrific stuff by Conan,

Lions done a great job of deal king with the break off runner so far

Biggar is back up after that big hit.

    Shootout between him and Gray

Robin McBryde will be pushing like all hell for Ryan.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,334 ✭✭✭theVersatile

Lions reviving the choke tackle, interesting giving the current tackle height environment

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,544 ✭✭✭dublinman1990

Yes. Get in there Josh Adams.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,366 ✭✭✭yerrahbah

Gwan Bundee. Great finish by Adams

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,617 ✭✭✭lawrencesummers

James Ryan scrambling looking for his passport

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,723 ✭✭✭✭Squidgy Black

    What a let off

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52,404 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

    Murray is too predictable.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators, Regional Midwest Moderators Posts: 24,008 Mod ✭✭✭✭Clareman

Murray looks like a lad who wants to have the summer off, penalty, free kick and block against him in the first 15 minutes.

    Get in VDM. :)

    Ohhhh Robbie Henshaw

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,225 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Henshaws already cemented that starting jersey for the first test. Best player in the pitch for the Lions so far.

    Just don't get injured please.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Henshaw is having a brilliant game.

Bundee's had a stormer too, that lovely break and won a turnover on the Lions 22.

Wouldn't be surprised at all to see a 10/12/13 of Farrell/Bundee/Henshaw for one of the tests depending on how Biggar goes

Japan are brilliant to watch. The Lions are getting a great run out. Contrast this with the Barbarians farce in 2013.
