    I'm loving the fancy RT900 disc rotors some of them have. Others are actually using the GRX ones because well 11g lighter.

    They've actually been making bike computers since the 80s, but were very much overtaken by the likes of Garmin when the GPS era arrived.

    Anyone else a bit shocked by the number of fans at it this year? Most of the sprint finished have crowds fairly deep, the climbs seem to have big numbers (albeit not quite Alpe d’Huez standard). I realise it’s public space so people can do what they want but getting the Caravan out is basically asking for spectators to be out for 2 hours.

    A few of them use the SRM PC8 I think, might be that one. You'll see a good few Garmin's and Wahoo's though

    I've seen a lot of them use that alright. Just googled it. Insane money. €700 or thereabouts.

    I think that's a bit unfair. It's an incredibly hilly course this year, from what I can see all the sprinters inhabit the bottom few places now we're 13 stages in.

    Sprinters are always near the bottom on gc anywau so wouldnt be a surprise. Although as the lantern rouge is treated as a prize in itself, many would view it cheeky to try and take the green jersey and last place. Would prob have 2nd last lose 30mims on the champs elysee just to be sure!

    Was never fully sure how the points comp worked. Looked it up and see every stage finish offer points, not just sprint ones.

    On hilly stages there are usually breakaways with varied makeups so you rarely see the same name cropping up repeatedly on these stages. Which is presumably why it is sprinters rather breakaway specialists battling it out for the jersey

    Vuelta points jersey is a joke as they have very few flat stages and dont give loads of extra points for them like in the TdF. Its usually won by Valverde or someone like that.

    Unusual route this year though so might see some real sprinters

    Does anyone know why Sagan wears different colour helmet then rest of the team. He wears white while rest of team is green. They are all sponsored by Specialised and The Sagan collection advertises a black helmet! I'm guessing it is linked to sponsorship but cant find anything

    Cycle without rhythm/and it won't attract the worm.

    Yes for 'coefficient' 1 and 2 stages (today is 2) the points awarded on the line are 50-30-20-18-16-14-12-10-8-7-6-5-4-3-2 or the first 15 to cross the line.
    Flat stages, coefficients 1 and 2: 50-30-20-18-16-14-12-10-8-7-6-5-4-3-2
    Hilly stages, coefficient 3: 30-25-22-19-17-15-13-11-9-7-6-5-4-3-2
    Mountainous stages, coefficient 4 or 5: 20-17-15-13-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1

    Its funny how they havent classified any of the climb from 120-155k, but classified the 2 bumps at the end
