Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Its not the same. When the ref blows the final whistle, its supposed to be the end of the game.

If, as is being said, the ref blew the final whistle then went back and warded the penalty, its a slippery slope. When does the retrospective reffing stop?

This has happen previously in other leagues. Just because it's the first time it's happened in England doesn't mean there's something up with it.

That’s easy, always the same with added time...

When it’s ‘your’ team (generic you, not you in particular) and they score after the allotted time it’s because ‘that’s the minimum to be added, not the maximum’

When it’s not ‘your’ team it’s exactly the allotted time and not a second more.

but don’t let that stop ye, you support the right team so you can stir as much as you like without fear of consequences:)

They don't want the correct decision to be made now.

It is, I agree with you Rock.

But I only picked it up at the tail end of last season, it's been happening in here for years as another poster has since pointed out.

Why is it only an issue for you now and wasn't before?

I’ve only seen you posting it, this season. And only when a goal is scored against Utd..

If you know it’s sad, why do you keep doing it?

not ideal, but it keeps OGS in the job for longer, could be better, could be worse I suppose.

I'm disappointed United won but would be even more disappointed if OGS's job was at risk.

Little victories eh? What a plonker.

First time I've heard of it happening. When did this other instances happen? What was the fallout?

Don’t really get the VAR controversy, it was the correct call. Brighton will be disappointed not getting at least a point.

United can be generously described as bang average. Would be very surprised if they manage top 4 this year, Chelsea and Arsenal are comfortably better.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,711 ✭✭✭This is it

Jaysus, United are in for a world of hurt this season going by those first two games. Incredibly poor.

It's been happening in here for years yet you only notice it & have an issue with it when a goal is scored against United.

I'm laughing at the amount of attention it's getting in here today tbh, it's been happening for years & nobody batted an eye lid.

I don’t remember one at full time myself but I remember in Germany the ref blew for half time and the teams had gone in and all. They all had to come back out for a penalty at the end of the first half that var gave after.

Big win for United that and hopefully one that means Ole is more secure in his role. With a bit of luck he might even get another £100m or so to spend.

19 games so far without a draw in PL.

Sancho must be chomping at the bit. Must check if he is playing right now.

    edit - yes he is

Palace v Everton only 3 PM KO. BBC red button not even bothering with Final Score.

Half time is one thing, you could argue it's a pause in the game...

But the full time whistle is definitive, the game is over. Or at least it has been for 150 years without complaint.

1-0 Everton Calvert-Lewin. All about the pass from Rodriguez though.

The difference a top class manager can make. Everton are going to do very well this year.

There's nothing particularly new happened here - it was always possible for the referee to blow the full-time whistle and then be informed of a penalty infringement by his linesman. The 'linesman' now just happens to be a tv watcher.

    ****
Also not sure how anyone can think it'd be better for Brighton to get away with a blatant handball on the technicality of a full-time whistle, when they wouldn't get away with it in any other minute of the game.

"Hamas" seems to have taken very well to the Prem. Obviously the cold wet night at Turf Moor test still to come.

Couldn't even tell you the last time I thought we looked somewhat decent. Perhaps when big Yak was there. That was back in 2008 or so!

Free header from the corner. All Pickford's fault I'd say lol

You should see the clowns in League One and Two, truly dire. It's where bad Prem and Championship refs get shuffled off to.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

If that’s given then players will soon need amputations before being allowed play.

More reviewing of stuff that shouldn't be reviewed.

VAR says peno. The game's gone.

As I mentioned a few days ago if this continues we'll see players signed only on agreement of their arms being removed. Or having the physique of Jordan Pickford

Twas the right decision by the laws but it’s bullsh*t. Similar thing with Lindleof last week.
