Fully deserved goal, leeds far better but city have the skill to punish

City are rocking now. Leeds hit the bar twice in a few minutes, albeit one was offside.

City do not look good so far this year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,541 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

Mendy getting hooked before hes sent off. Was lucky to still be on anyway.

    Fair play Meslier

Sterling has been so poor for the whole of 2020

£100M worth of central defenders on the bench for city.

City seem clueless with the ball

But pep is calm, and sticking to his principles. Sky told me that this morning.

May aswell just give your lot the trophy already I think this season ;)

1 on 1 with a keeper, his torso is probably not the place you want to be hitting it. Bamford looked like he didnt know what to do.

Leeds will get done here in injury time.
They style is class but surely at this late stage they should tighten up

How come that handball penalty appeal wasn't given this week?

We just have to stick with the formalities. The league is already over :pac:

I see United have signed Cavani,
The big red panic button had been push at old Trafford

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,573 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

    No red

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,443 ✭✭✭✭TitianGerm

That was some header by Bamford :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,541 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

    Surprised by no red there.

Fully deserved point though, what a performance

Signed him? Thought they just flashed along with the old United are in talks thing on sky? Has it gone through?

Pep is done and If City really want to win the Champions League with this team they could do worse than hiring the Everton manager who knows how to win it with different teams.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,247 ✭✭✭✭Guy:Incognito

Surely Everton cant bottle it from here?

Retirement Village still open for business then. Will they ever learn.

He's a squad player, a bench asset . But to sign him instead of who they really wanted, that's just desperate .

Pep still in great form at full time, smiles all over.

Man City remind of Arsenal about 10 or so years ago. They play a smug brand of football, win by a few goals most weeks but when the other team puts it up to them, they don't win.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,531 ✭✭✭✭noodler

If you'd told me this game would end level based on the first 25 minutes...well...o wouldn't have believed you.

All over Twitter that it's done
He was touted to Juve and Atl Madrid but neither would pay the wages, either United did or Cavani was running out of options

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,573 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

City looking like a mid table team so far. They need to improve for sure

Ah, not confirmed then fair enough.

I'm sure the details will be leaked if he does sign and we can see a minute and second breakdown for his 78million pound a month contract.

Juve can't afford anyone sure with that Ronaldo contract and AM got sorted. I'd imagine Cavani if he wants to play will have to be reasonable with his wage demands, United are on fire with the penny pinching right now, it's all the rage you know

That’s why people get so pissed off with VAR...

That was 10000% a red card.. but VAR have multiple looks and it stays as yellow. A terrible challenge, no attempt to play the ball, player could have been badly injured. As serious foul play as you can get.

    Deffo a red tbh

Shocking scenes if we don't win from here. Blow it up ref. I think PL are just waiting for the Derby before confirming Everton as PL winners.

I think if Everton Draw we might just have the parade the following week.

That Leeds - Man City game was a brilliant watch for the neutral. Love those type of games.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,241 ✭✭✭✭StringerBell

Leeds will always be good value for entertainment anyway, hopefully more often than not on the losing end of a goal fest

Great result for Leeds. City picking up where they left off last season. Great to see.

If Liverpool win tomorrow, that Derby match with fans would be the most excited I would be for a Derby game in 10+ years aside for the cup semi final.

Unfortunately fans won't be in there but it would have been incredible scenes. There would be so much hype pre game. Imagine the Goodison crowd early morning, plenty of pints in them and up for a first derby win in years and to beat Liverpool to stay top of the league. Even as a Liverpool fan, I would love the week leading up to it with banter etc from Everton.

And then love even more when Liverpool win ;) :pac:

Need to stick the knife in tomorrow. Make sure that again we take advantage. We need to get into a position where losing 4-0 to City like we did last season would not matter. A decent gap takes away all their influence on us.
We play they once away in the league, not 38 times.

Yeh honestly it's such good hype for the Derby. Would be unbelievable craic. The last Derby I was at was many years ago.

Gerrard scored a hat trick in Anfield :pac:

Would be a great week. All joking aside. I always think we're good for a draw at Goodison and I'd take it again right now if it was offered.

Leeds a breath of fresh air so far, delighted they are back in PL. Also delighted they took points off City of course.

Also fair fcks to Everton, looking mightily impressive thus far.

Yep, that came out a few minutes ago didn't it? I'd take that as a pretty solid reporting of it anyway.

Cavani is such a Woodward signing. Don't want him anywhere near United.

I'd imagine Cavani's wages will be right up there with the top earners as well.

€250k a week and €10 million in agent fees if reports are to be believed.

But United wouldn't fork out a few extra quid to get Telles.

The epitome of a panic buy.

Is cavani not a free agenr? Why the rush to sign him - can they not do it after the deadline? Unless they have no other realistic option lined

A free agent no one seemed to want I would have taken him at Liverpool however not at that kind of money.

If he could have been gotten on a basic wage of £100k a week with a really goal and assist bonuses he would be well worth a gamble at his age and with his experience.

Paying him £250k a week to be 3rd choice again doesn't help with future contract dealings with other players.

To register him in time for the CL squad.

He's been a free agent since the end of June, there was definitely no rush!

Cheaper than Sanchez though and he can't be as bad as he was.
